Abstract

The present disclosure relates to handling mobility in dual connectivity in wireless communication system. According to various embodiments, a method performed by a target secondary node (SN) for a primary secondary cell (PSCell) mobility of a wireless device from a source SN in a wireless communication system comprises: receiving, from a master node (MN), a message for informing a trigger of the PSCell mobility; obtaining inactivity status information informing that the wireless device is in an inactive state; and releasing or suspending lower layers for a communication with the wireless device based on the inactivity status information after the PSCell mobility of the wireless device to the target SN is completed, wherein the lower layers comprises at least one of a physical (PHY) layer, a media access control (MAC) layer, or a radio link control (RLC) layer.

Claims (35)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a target secondary node from a master node, a request message for a conditional mobility of a wireless device from a source secondary node to the target secondary node;

transmitting, by the target secondary node to the master node, an acknowledgement message comprising a configuration related to the target secondary node;

receiving, by the target secondary node from the master node, a complete message for the configuration related to the target secondary node based on a condition for the conditional mobility being met,

wherein at least one of the request message or the complete message comprises inactivity status information that the wireless device is in an inactive state; and

suspending, by the target secondary node, resources for a communication with the wireless device based on the inactivity status information.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request message comprises the inactivity status information.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request message is a secondary node addition request message, and

wherein the acknowledgement message is a secondary node addition request acknowledgement message.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising storing, by the target secondary node, the inactivity status information.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising performing, by the target secondary node, a random access procedure with the wireless device based on the condition for the conditional mobility being met.

6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising after performing the random access procedure, transmitting, by the target secondary node to the master node, a message comprising information for a completion of the conditional mobility.

7 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the suspending of the resources for a communication with the wireless device comprises suspending of the resources for a communication with the wireless device upon receiving the complete message.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the complete message comprises the inactivity status information.

9 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device from a master node, a reconfiguration message comprising a condition for a conditional mobility of the wireless device from a source secondary node to a target secondary node, and a configuration related to the target secondary node; and

transmitting, by the wireless device to the master node, a complete message for the configuration related to the target secondary node based on the condition for the conditional mobility being met,

wherein a request message for the conditional mobility is transmitted from the master node to the target secondary node,

wherein an acknowledgement message comprising the configuration related to the target secondary node is transmitted from the target secondary node to the master node,

wherein at least one of the request message or the complete message comprises inactivity status information that the wireless device is in an inactive state, and

wherein resources for a communication with the target secondary node are suspended by the target secondary node based on the inactivity status information.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the request message comprises the inactivity status information.

11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the complete message comprises the inactivity status information.

12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the resources for a communication with the target secondary node are suspended by the target secondary node based on the target secondary node receiving the complete message.

13 . A target secondary node comprising:

a transceiver;

a memory; and

at least one processor operatively coupled to the transceiver and the memory,

wherein the memory stores instructions that, based on being executed by the at least one processor, perform operations comprising:

receiving, from a master node, a request message for a conditional mobility of a wireless device from a source secondary node to the target secondary node;

transmitting, to the master node, an acknowledgement message comprising a configuration related to the target secondary node;

receiving, from the master node, a complete message for the configuration related to the target secondary node based on a condition for the conditional mobility being met,

wherein at least one of the request message or the complete message comprises inactivity status information that the wireless device is in an inactive state; and

suspending resources for a communication with the wireless device based on the inactivity status information.
