Abstract

An example display device may include a voice signal receiver, a display, at least one memory storing an application supporting a contents providing service and storing instructions, a communication circuit communicating with at least one external server supporting the contents providing service, and at least one processor. The contents providing service may provide contents files of a first type and contents files of a second type.

Claims (52)

1 . A display device comprising:

a voice input receiver;

a display;

a communicator; and

a processor configured to:

transmit, through the communicator, a first user voice input received through the voice input receiver to at least one external server,

receive, through the communicator, a search result for a plurality of contents corresponding to the first user voice input from the at least one external server, wherein the plurality of contents includes at least one content of a first type and/or at least one content of a second type,

control the display to display a first user interface (UI) including information on the at least one content of the first type and to display an item for displaying a second UI including information on the at least one content of the second type,

wherein a priority of the first type is higher than a priority of the second type.

2 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one content of the first type includes at least one broadcast type content and the at least one content of the second type includes at least one video on demand (VOD) type content.

3 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to:

based on receiving a user input for selecting the item, control the display to display the second UI including information on the at least one content of the second type.

4 . The display device of claim 3 , wherein the processor is configured to:

based on receiving a second user voice input for selecting a content included in the first UI or the second UI through the voice input receiver, control the display to display a screen corresponding to the selected content.

5 . The display device of claim 4 , further comprising:

a signal receiver,

wherein the processor is configured to:

based on receiving the second user voice input for selecting a broadcast type content included in the first UI through the voice input receiver, receive data associated with the selected broadcast type content from the at least one server through the signal receiver, and

control, based on the received data, the display to display a screen corresponding to the selected broadcast type content.

6 . The display device of claim 5 , wherein the processor is configured to:

control the display to display the screen corresponding to the selected broadcast type content through a broadcast channel through which the selected broadcast type content is broadcast.

7 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to:

based on the search result not including a broadcast type content corresponding to the first user voice input and currently being broadcast through a broadcast channel, control the display to display the second UI including information on the at least one content of the second type.

8 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of contents comprises at least one content corresponding to a keyword extracted from the first user voice input stored in a database of the at least one external server.

9 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to:

based on the first user voice input including information associated with a content type, control the display to display a UI corresponding to the content type among the first UI or the second UI regardless of the priority of the first type and the priority of the second type.

10 . A method for controlling a display device, comprising:

transmitting a first user voice input to at least one external server;

receiving a search result for a plurality of contents corresponding to the first user voice input from the at least one external server, wherein the plurality of contents includes at least one content of a first type and/or at least one content of a second type; and

displaying, through a display of the display device, a first user interface (UI) including information on the at least one content of the first type and displaying an item for displaying a second UI including information on the at least one content of the second type,

wherein a priority of the first type is higher than a priority of the second type.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one content of the first type includes at least one broadcast type content and the at least one content of the second type includes at least one video on demand (VOD) type content.

12 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

displaying, based on receiving a user input for selecting the item, the second UI including information on the at least one content of the second type.

13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

displaying, based on receiving a second user voice input for selecting a content included in the first UI or the second UI, a screen corresponding to the selected content.

14 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:

receiving, based on receiving the second user voice input for selecting a broadcast type content included in the first UI, data associated with the selected broadcast type content from the at least one server; and

displaying, based on the received data, a screen corresponding to the selected broadcast type content.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the displaying the screen comprises:

displaying the screen corresponding to the selected broadcast type content through a broadcast channel through which the selected broadcast type content is broadcast.

16 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

displaying, based on the search result not including a broadcast type content corresponding to the first user voice input and currently being broadcast through a broadcast channel, the second UI including information on the at least one content of the second type.

17 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of contents comprises at least one content corresponding to a keyword extracted from the first user voice input stored in a database of the at least one external server.

18 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

displaying, based on the first user voice input including information associated with a content type, a UI corresponding to the content type among the first UI or the second UI regardless of the priority of the first type and the priority of the second type.

19 . A non-transitory storage medium storing instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed by at least one processor of a display device, cause the display device to:

transmit a first user voice input received through the voice input receiver to at least one external server,

receive a search result for a plurality of contents corresponding to the first user voice input from the at least one external server, wherein the plurality of contents includes at least one content of a first type and/or at least one content of a second type,

display a first user interface (UI) including information on the at least one content of the first type and display an item for displaying a second UI including information on the at least one content of the second type,

wherein a priority of the first type is higher than a priority of the second type.

20 . The storage medium of claim 19 , wherein the at least one content of the first type includes at least one broadcast type content and the at least one content of the second type includes at least one video on demand (VOD) type content.
