Abstract

An audio system ( 1 ) for a motor vehicle has an individual playback device ( 5 ) configured to individually expose a vehicle occupant to sound. The individual playback device ( 5 ) is configured to play back an individual compensation signal for individually suppressing the audio signal played back by a general playback device, for the vehicle occupant who uses the individual playback device ( 5 ).

Claims (32)

1 . An audio system for a motor vehicle, the audio system comprising:

a general signal source that is configured to transmit an audio signal;

a general playback device that is configured to fill a vehicle interior of the motor vehicle with sound, the general playback device being connected via a first communication link to the general signal source, the general signal source being configured to transmit the audio signal via the first communication link to the general playback device, the general playback device being further configured to play back the received audio signal; and

an individual playback device that is configured to individually expose a vehicle occupant to sound, the individual playback device being further configured to play back, for the vehicle occupant who uses the individual playback device, an individual compensation signal for individually suppressing the audio signal played back by the general playback device, the individual playback device being connected via a second communication link to the general signal source,

wherein the general signal source is further configured to transmit the audio signal and/or a pre-processed signal based on the audio signal, via the second communication link to the individual playback device,

wherein the individual playback device comprises one or more microphones, and a signal processing device,

wherein the signal processing device is configured to generate the individual compensation signal using the signal transmitted from the general signal source to the individual playback device, as a function of a microphone signal of the one or more microphones, and

wherein the signal processing device comprises a pre-processing unit for pre-processing the audio signal and/or the pre-processed signal received via the second communication link, wherein the pre-processing unit is configured to use an algorithm to account for an expected variation of an acoustic audio signal in an area of the individual playback device by:

comparing an actual, undistorted audio signal and an acoustic audio signal arriving in the area of the individual playback device to ascertain a deviation therebetween, and

compensating for the deviation by adjusting the algorithm of the pre-processing unit.

2 . The audio system of claim 1 , wherein the audio system is configured to delay the playback of the audio signal by the general playback device in comparison to the transmission of at least one of the audio signal and the pre-processed signal to the individual playback device.

3 . The audio system of claim 2 , wherein the delay is between 1 millisecond and 1 second.

4 . The audio system of claim 1 , wherein the audio system is configured to delay the transmission of the audio signal to the general playback device in comparison to the transmission of at least one of the audio signal and the pre-processed signal to the individual playback device.

5 . The audio system of claim 4 , wherein the delay is between 1 millisecond and 1 second.

6 . The audio system of claim 1 , wherein the individual playback device is further configured to establish a further communication link with an individual signal source for the purpose of receiving and playing back an individual audio signal transmitted by the individual signal source.

7 . The audio system of claim 6 , wherein the individual playback device is a smartphone or a tablet that does not include the general signal source.

8 . The audio system of claim 6 , wherein the individual playback device is a multimedia system of the vehicle that is different from the general signal source.

9 . The audio system of claim 1 , wherein the signal processing device is further configured to determine a general compensation signal based on the signal transmitted from the general signal source to the individual playback device and to individually adjust this general compensation signal as a function of the microphone signal of the one or more microphones for generating the individual compensation signal.

10 . The audio system of claim 1 , wherein the individual playback device comprises headphones.

11 . The audio system of claim 1 , wherein the audio system comprises a plurality of individual playback devices.

12 . A vehicle comprising the audio system of claim 1 .

13 . The audio system of claim 1 , wherein the algorithm is a first self-learning algorithm.

14 . The audio system of claim 13 , wherein the compensation signal is generated by a second self-learning algorithm.

15 . The audio system of claim 1 wherein the general signal source is configured to transmit the audio signal and the pre-processed signal based on the audio signal, via the second communication link, to the individual playback device.

16 . An audio system for a motor vehicle, comprising:

a general signal source configured to transmit an audio signal;

a general playback device that is configured to fill a vehicle interior of the motor vehicle with sound, the general playback device being connected via a first communication link to the general signal source, the general signal source being configured to transmit the audio signal via the first communication link to the general playback device, the general playback device being configured to play back the received audio signal; and

a plurality of individual playback devices each configured to individually expose a respective vehicle occupant to sound, each individual playback device being configured to play back, for the respective vehicle occupant using the respective individual playback device, an individual compensation signal for individually suppressing the audio signal played back by the general playback device, each individual playback device being connected via a second communication link to the general signal source, the general signal source being configured to transmit the audio signal and/or a pre-processed signal based on the audio signal, via the second communication links, to the individual playback devices, the individual playback devices each comprising one or more microphones and a signal processing device configured to generate the respective individual compensation signal,

wherein each respective signal processing device is configured to generate the respective individual compensation signal using the audio signal and/or the pre-processed signal based on the audio signal transmitted from the general signal source to the respective individual playback device as a function of a microphone signal of the one or more microphones of the respective individual playback device,

wherein each signal processing device comprises a pre-processing unit for pre-processing the audio signal and/or the pre-processed signal received via the second communication link, wherein the pre-processing unit is configured to use an algorithm to account for a respective expected variation of an acoustic audio signal in a respective area of the respective individual playback device by:

comparing an actual, undistorted audio signal and an acoustic audio signal arriving in the respective area of the respective individual playback device to ascertain a deviation therebetween, and

compensating for the deviation by adjusting the algorithm of the respective pre-processing unit.
