Abstract

A light source device includes: a plurality of independently operable light emitting devices; and a first lens having a lower face that faces the light emitting devices, and a upper face opposite the lower face. The lower face of the first lens includes: an entrance part where light from the light emitting devices enters, the entrance part being a concave portion overlapping the light emitting devices in a top plan view, the entrance part including: a lower face convex portion provided in a lower face of the concave portion, and an angular portion protruding towards the light emitting devices; and a light guide part located outward of the entrance part and having an oblique face tilted toward an optical axis of the first lens.

Claims (34)

1 . A light source device comprising:

a substrate;

a plurality of independently operable light emitting devices mounted on the substrate; and

a first lens comprising:

a main body having a lower face that faces the light emitting devices, and a upper face opposite the lower face; wherein the lower face of the main body part comprises:

an entrance part where light from the light emitting devices enters, the entrance part being a concave portion overlapping the light emitting devices in a top plan view, wherein the entrance part comprises:

a lower face convex portion provided in a lower face of the concave portion, and

an angular portion protruding towards the light emitting devices, and

a light guide part located outward of the entrance part and having an oblique face tilted toward an optical axis of the first lens, and

a marginal part comprising:

an upper portion extending laterally outward from a periphery of the main body, and

a leg portion extending downward from the upper portion and having a lower face that is fixed to an upper face of the substrate.

2 . The light source device according to claim 1 , wherein:

the upper face of the main body of the first lens has an upper face convex portion; and

in a top plan view, the upper face convex portion encompasses the lower face convex portion.

3 . The light source device according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a second lens having a lower face that faces the first lens, and an upper face opposite the lower face of the second lens.

4 . The light source device according to claim 3 , wherein the lower face of the second lens has a plurality of annular protruding portions that are concentrically arranged.

5 . The light source device according to claim 4 , wherein the upper face of the second lens has a flat face.

6 . The light source device according to claim 1 , wherein the lower face of the main body of the first lens has a 4-fold symmetrical shape in a top plan view.

7 . The light source device according to claim 1 , wherein the lower face convex portion has a quadrilateral shape in a top plan view.

8 . The light source device according to claim 1 , wherein:

the upper face of the main body of the first lens comprises an upper face convex portion located in a center of the upper face of the main body of the first lens; and

an upper face of the marginal part comprises a flat portion.

9 . The light source device according to claim 8 , further comprising:

a second lens having a lower face that faces the first lens, and an upper face opposite the lower face of the second lens; and

the second lens is fixed to the flat portion.

10 . The light source device according to claim 1 , wherein the light emitting devices are collectively arranged in a quadrangle in a top plan view.

11 . A cellular phone comprising:

a cellular phone housing; and

the light source device according to claim 1 .

12 . The light source device according to claim 1 , wherein the leg portion entirely surrounds the plurality of light emitting devices.

13 . The light source device according to claim 12 , wherein the leg portion has a tubular shape.

14 . The light source device according to claim 1 , wherein the lower face of the leg portion is fixed to the upper face of the substrate via an adhesive material.
