Abstract

A lighting device is disclosed. The example lighting device includes a printed circuit board. First and second LED circuits are mounted on the printed circuit board. The first LED circuit is configured to emit a first color temperature of white light when receiving power from a driver circuit and the second LED circuit is configured to emit a second color temperature of white light when receiving the power from the driver circuit. The second color temperature of white light emitted from the second LED circuit is different than the first color temperature of white light emitted from the first LED circuit.

Claims (34)

1 . A lighting device comprising:

a driver circuit and a first LED circuit mounted on a printed circuit board, the first LED circuit configured to receive power provided from an output of the driver circuit, the first LED circuit including a first plurality of LEDs, wherein the first LED circuit is configured to emit a first color temperature of white light when receiving the power from the driver circuit;

a second LED circuit mounted on the printed circuit board, the second LED circuit configured to receive power provided from the output of the driver circuit, the second LED circuit including a second plurality of LEDs, wherein the second LED circuit is configured to emit a second color temperature of white light when receiving the power from the driver circuit, the second color temperature of white light being different than the first color temperature of white light emitted from the first LED circuit; and

a switch configured for user control,

wherein the switch is configured to control a level of the power received by the first LED circuit and the second LED circuit based upon a user-selected position of the switch, and

wherein the first LED circuit and the second LED circuit are configured to change brightness levels of light emitted in response to the user changing the position of the switch.

2 . The lighting device of claim 1 , further comprising a bridge rectifier mounted on the printed circuit board, wherein the bridge rectifier is electrically connected to the driver circuit and configured to receive an input voltage from a mains voltage power source, and wherein the driver circuit is configured to receive an output voltage from the bridge rectifier.

3 . The lighting device of claim 2 , further comprising:

a first power connection lead electrically connected to a first voltage input of the bridge rectifier; and

a second power connection lead electrically connected to a second voltage input of the bridge rectifier.

4 . The lighting device of claim 3 , wherein each power connection lead is electrically connected to the mains voltage power source.

5 . The lighting device of claim 1 , further comprising current limiting resistors electrically connected to the first and second LED circuits.

6 . The lighting device of claim 1 , further comprising a fixture including a lens, wherein the printed circuit board is mounted inside the fixture and covered with the lens.

7 . The lighting device of claim 1 , wherein the switch is configured to cause a color temperature of light emitted from the lighting device to change by increasing the brightness level of one of the first LED circuit or the second LED circuit.

8 . The lighting device of claim 1 , wherein the switch is configured to cause a color temperature of light emitted from the lighting device to change by decreasing the brightness level of one of the first LED circuit or the second LED circuit.

9 . The lighting device of claim 1 , wherein when the user positions the switch into at least one position, the first LED circuit decreases the brightness level of light.

10 . The lighting device of claim 1 , wherein the switch includes another user-selected position that is configured to prevent the output of the driver circuit from reaching the first LED circuit to turn off the first plurality of LEDs.

11 . The lighting device of claim 1 , wherein the switch includes another user-selected position that is configured to prevent the output of the driver circuit from reaching the second LED circuit to turn off the second plurality of LEDs.

12 . A lighting device comprising:

a driver circuit and a first LED circuit mounted on a printed circuit board, the first LED circuit configured to receive power provided from an output of the driver circuit, the first LED circuit including a first plurality of LEDs;

a second LED circuit mounted on the printed circuit board, the second LED circuit configured to receive power provided from the output of the driver circuit, the second LED circuit including a second plurality of LEDs; and

a switch configured for user control,

wherein the switch is configured to control a level of the power received by the first LED circuit and the second LED circuit based upon a user-selected position of the switch, and

wherein the first LED circuit and the second LED circuit are configured to change brightness levels of light emitted in response to the user changing the position of the switch.

13 . The lighting device of claim 12 , further comprising a bridge rectifier mounted on the printed circuit board, wherein the bridge rectifier is electrically connected to the driver circuit and configured to receive an input voltage from a mains voltage power source, and wherein the driver circuit is configured to receive an output voltage from the bridge rectifier.

14 . The lighting device of claim 13 , further comprising:

a first power connection lead electrically connected to a first voltage input of the bridge rectifier; and

a second power connection lead electrically connected to a second voltage input of the bridge rectifier.

15 . The lighting device of claim 14 , wherein each power connection lead is electrically connected to the mains voltage power source.

16 . The lighting device of claim 12 , further comprising current limiting resistors electrically connected to the first and second LED circuits.

17 . The lighting device of claim 12 , further comprising a fixture including a lens, wherein the printed circuit board is mounted inside the fixture and covered with the lens.

18 . The lighting device of claim 12 , wherein the switch is configured to cause a color temperature of light emitted from the lighting device to change by increasing the brightness level of one of the first LED circuit or the second LED circuit.

19 . The lighting device of claim 12 , wherein the switch is configured to cause a color temperature of light emitted from the lighting device to change by decreasing the brightness level of one of the first LED circuit or the second LED circuit.

20 . The lighting device of claim 12 , wherein the switch includes another user-selected position that is configured to prevent the output of the driver circuit from reaching the first LED circuit to turn off the first plurality of LEDs.
