Abstract

This disclosure provides compositions or combinations of (A) phytotoxic micronutrients and (C) agricultural compositions and their use for selectively and effectively controlling invasive plants.

Claims (11)

1 . A method of treating degraded rangeland to reduce the number of annual plants on the rangeland while increasing the number of perennial plants on the rangeland, the method consisting of:

applying to the degraded rangeland a combination of a phytotoxic micronutrient, wherein the phytotoxic micronutrient is elemental boron;

a synthetic herbicide, wherein the synthetic herbicide is indaziflam; and an adjuvant; wherein the degraded rangeland comprises at least one annual plant species; wherein the phytotoxic micronutrient is applied at a rate of about 10 pounds to about 25 pounds of elemental boron per acre, and wherein the synthetic herbicide is applied at a rate of about 3 ounces to about 7 ounces per acre; and wherein the degraded rangeland comprises disturbed land sites.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the annual plant species is selected from the group consisting of Bromus tectorum, Bromus Japonicus, Bromus hordeaceus, Aegilops cylindrica, Bromus rubens , Taeniatherum caput - medusae, Ventenata dubia, Poa bulbosa, Eremopyrum triticeum, Echinochloa crusgalli, Vulpia myuros, Eleusine indica, Digitaria spp., Poa annual, Bassia, Lolium multifloru, panicum spp., Amaranthus, Chenopodium berlandieri, Setaria , Digitus, Sinapis arvensis, Thlaspi arvense, Lolium, Galium aparine, Avena fatua, Abutilon theophrasti, Portulaca oleracea , Echninochloa, Polygonum pensylvanicum, Xanthium, Fallopia convolvulus, Medicago, Agrostemma githago, Ambrosia, Sonchus , Chicorium intybus, Senna Obtusifolia, Senna occidentalis, Sesbania berbacea, Croton, Cuphea , Cucuta, Fumaria, Senecio, Galeopsis , Scleranthus annuus, Euphorbia , Spergula, Echinochloa colona, Potamogeton, Eupatorium capillifolium, Mollugo verticillate, Convolvulaceae, Galium aparine and Heteranthera limosa.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjuvant is selected from a wetting agent, an activator, a crop oil concentrate, a buffer, a marker dye or a surfactant.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the phytotoxic micronutrient and the synthetic herbicide is in a dry granular formulation or in a liquid formulation.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the phytotoxic micronutrient and the synthetic herbicide is in a liquid formulation.
