Abstract

Engineered AAV vectors for transgene expression, e.g., in the CNS, PNS, inner ear, heart, or retina, and methods of use thereof. Also provided are methods for discovering new engineered AAV vectors that mediate transgene expression in desired cell types.

Claims (2)

1 . An adeno-associated vector (AAV) capsid protein comprising an amino acid sequence that comprises at least five contiguous amino acids from STTLYSP (SEQ ID NO: 1) or FVVGQSY (SEQ ID NO:2), wherein the contiguous amino acids are inserted between residues 588 and 589 of SEQ ID NO: 6.

2 . The AAV capsid protein of claim 1 , comprising an amino acid sequence that comprises at least six contiguous amino acids from STTLYSP (SEQ ID NO: 1) or FVVGQSY (SEQ ID NO: 2).
