Abstract

Apparatuses and methods for transmission of uplink channels with frequency hopping. A method of a user equipment includes receiving first information indicating use of a same power for a transmission of a channel over different slots and second information indicating a first number of slots for the transmission of the channel. The method includes determining a first time window for the transmission of the channel based on the first and second information and a first power for the transmission of the channel over the first time window. The method further includes transmitting the channel over the first time window with the first power.

Claims (40)

1 . A user equipment (UE) in a communication system, the UE comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor operably coupled to the transceiver and configured to:

receive a first configuration to configure repetition transmissions of an uplink channel and a second configuration to enable demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) bundling of a DM-RS for the uplink channel;

determine a first time domain window, wherein:

in case that a third configuration to configure a number of consecutive slots for the first time domain window is received, the first time domain window is determined as the number of consecutive slots configured by the third configuration, and

in case that the third configuration is not received, the first time domain window is determined based on a repetition number of the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel;

determine a second time domain window included in the first time domain window; and

transmit the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel by maintaining power for the uplink channel and phase for the uplink channel in the second time domain window.

2 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein in case that a fourth configuration to configure inter-slot frequency hopping for the uplink channel is received, the second time domain window is determined based on a time domain interval of the inter-slot frequency hopping, and

wherein the time domain interval of the inter-slot frequency hopping is configured as consecutive slots.

3 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein in case that a gap between two consecutive transmissions included in the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel exceeds a predefined size, an end time of the second time domain window corresponds to a start time of the gap.

4 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the DM-RS bundling is applied to a DM-RS for the uplink channel in the second time domain window.

5 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel are transmitted by maintaining a precoder for the uplink channel and a spatial domain filter for the uplink channel in the second time domain window.

6 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the uplink channel is a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH).

7 . A base station (BS) in a communication system, the base station comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to:

transmit a first configuration to configure repetition transmissions of an uplink channel and a second configuration to enable demodulation reference signal DM-RS bundling of a DM-RS for the uplink channel; and

receive the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel in a first time domain window included in a second time domain window after transmission of the first configuration and the second configuration,

wherein in case that a third configuration to configure a number of consecutive slots for the second time domain window is transmitted, the second time domain window is the number of consecutive slots,

wherein in case that the third configuration is not transmitted, the second time domain window is based on a repetition number of the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel, and

wherein power for the uplink channel and phase for the uplink channel are maintained in the first time domain window.

8 . The BS of claim 7 , wherein in case that a fourth configuration to configure inter-slot frequency hopping for the uplink channel is transmitted, the first time domain window is based on a time domain interval of the inter-slot frequency hopping, and

wherein the time domain interval of the inter-slot frequency hopping is configured as consecutive slots.

9 . The BS of claim 7 , wherein a precoder for the uplink channel and a spatial domain filter for the uplink channel are maintained in the first time domain window.

10 . The BS of claim 7 , wherein the uplink channel is a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH).

11 . A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a communication system, the method comprising:

receiving a first configuration to configure repetition transmissions of an uplink channel and a second configuration to enable demodulation reference signal DM-RS bundling of a DM-RS for the uplink channel;

determining a first time domain window, wherein:

in case that a third configuration to configure a number of consecutive slots for the first time domain window is received, the first time domain window is determined as the number of consecutive slots configured by the third configuration, and

in case that the third configuration is not received, the first time domain window is determined based on a repetition number of the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel;

determining a second time domain window included in the first time domain window; and

transmitting the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel by maintaining power for the uplink channel and phase for the uplink channel in the second time domain window.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein in case that a fourth configuration to configure inter-slot frequency hopping for the uplink channel is received, the second time domain window is determined based on a time domain interval of the inter-slot frequency hopping, and

wherein the time domain interval of the inter-slot frequency hopping is configured as consecutive slots.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein in case that a gap between two consecutive transmissions included in the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel exceeds a predefined size, an end time of the second time domain window corresponds to a start time of the gap.

14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the DM-RS bundling is applied to a DM-RS for the uplink channel in the second time domain window.

15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the repetition transmissions of the uplink channel are transmitted by maintaining a precoder for the uplink channel and a spatial domain filter for the uplink channel in the second time domain window.

16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the uplink channel is a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH).
