Abstract

Aspects of the disclosure relate to managing bandwidth parts for wireless communication. A BWP, of a plurality of BWPs of a carrier bandwidth, is activated. One of a slot format or a signaling priority of the activated BWP is determined. A second BWP may be configured to be complementary to the activated BWP, based on the determined slot format or signaling priority, wherein the second BWP is designated as a new BWP for a user equipment (UE) when the activated BWP is deactivated. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Claims (14)

1 . A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network, comprising:

one or more memories; and

one or more processors communicatively coupled to one or more memories, wherein the one or more processors and the one or more memories are configured to:

communicate with a base station to configure an active anchor bandwidth part (BWP) of a plurality of BWPs of a carrier bandwidth for the UE, wherein the active anchor BWP is configured to be for a first full-duplex (FD) slot with a first uplink (UL) band;

select a complementary BWP of the plurality of BWPs to be an active BWP, based on slot format, wherein the complementary BWP is configured for a second FD slot with a second UL band, the first UL band being smaller than the second UL band; and

activate the complementary BWP in response to deactivation of the active anchor BWP.

2 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the complementary BWP has at least a partially overlapping bandwidth with the active anchor BWP.

3 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the complementary BWP comprises a different sub-carrier spacing from the active anchor BWP.

4 . A method of full duplex (FD) communication in a user equipment (UE), comprising:

communicating with a base station to configure an active anchor bandwidth part (BWP) of a plurality of BWPs of a carrier bandwidth for the UE, wherein the active anchor BWP is configured to be for a first full-duplex (FD) slot with a first uplink (UL) band;

selecting a complementary BWP of the plurality of BWPs to be an active BWP, based on slot format, wherein the complementary BWP is configured for a second FD slot with a second UL band, the first UL band being smaller than the second UL band; and

activating the complementary BWP in response to deactivation of the active anchor BWP.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the complementary BWP has at least a partially overlapping bandwidth with the active anchor BWP.

6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the complementary BWP comprises a different sub-carrier spacing from the active anchor BWP.
