Abstract

An electronic device is disclosed, including a rear cover; a first circuit; and a module assembly disposed between the first circuit board and the rear cover, wherein the module assembly includes an optical sensor module including a second circuit board electrically connected with the first circuit board via a first connector, and a wireless charging module including a charging coil and electrically connected with the second circuit board, wherein the wireless charging module is disposed in proximity of the optical sensor module such that the second circuit board is substantially surrounded by the charging coil, and that, when viewed in a direction from a side of the wearable device, the second circuit board is located between a first geometric plane extending a first face of the wireless charging module and a second geometric plane extending a second face of the wireless charging module.

Claims (39)

1 . A wearable device comprising:

a rear cover;

a first circuit board including a processor disposed thereon; and

a module assembly disposed between the first circuit board and the rear cover, the module assembly including:

an optical sensor module including a second circuit board including a first surface facing the rear cover and a second surface opposite to the first surface, a light emitter, and a light receiver, the second circuit board electrically connected with the first circuit board via a first connection member disposed on the second surface of the second circuit board, each of the light emitter and light receiver disposed on the first surface of the second circuit board; and

a wireless charging module including a charging coil physically coupled to the second circuit board via a second connection member, when viewed in a direction from a side of the wearable device, the second circuit board located substantially a same plane as the wireless charging module,

wherein the wireless charging module is disposed in proximity of the optical sensor module such that the second circuit board is located in an opening area substantially surrounded by the charging coil, and

wherein a portion of the first connection member is accommodated within the opening area.

2 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein, when viewed in a direction from the side of the wearable device, the wireless charging module is at least partially overlapped with at least one of the light emitter or the light receiver.

3 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the wireless charging module is electrically connected with the first circuit board through the first connection member, the second circuit board and the second connection member.

4 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the optical sensor module includes a separation sidewall disposed between the light emitter and the light receiver such that a first ending portion of the separation sidewall being adhesively attached to the rear cover.

5 . The wearable device of claim 4 , wherein a second ending portion of the separation sidewall is adhesively attached to the same surface of the second circuit board.

6 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the wireless charging module is adhesively attached to the rear cover.

7 . The wearable device of claim 3 , wherein the second connection member is extended from the charging coil toward the second circuit board.

8 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the light receiver includes a plurality of light receiving elements arranged substantially along with a periphery of the opening area.

9 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein each of the light emitter and the light receiver forms at least part of a chip-on-board (COB) mounted on the second circuit board.

10 . The wearable device of claim 3 , wherein the second connection member is connected with the second circuit board through soldering.

11 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the rear cover includes a plurality of electrodes for measuring a biometric signal related to an electrocardiogram, and the plurality of electrodes is electrically connected with the second circuit board.

12 . A wearable device comprising:

a rear cover;

a first circuit board including a processor disposed thereon;

a module assembly disposed between the first circuit board and the rear cover, the module assembly including:

an optical sensor module including a second circuit board including a first surface facing the rear cover and a second surface opposite to the first surface, a light emitter, and a light receiver, the second circuit board electrically connected with the first circuit board through a first connection member disposed on the second surface of the second circuit board, each of the light emitter and light receiver disposed on the first surface of the second circuit board; and

a wireless charging module physically coupled to the second circuit board via a second connection member and electrically connected with the first circuit board through the first connection member and the second circuit board without a direct electrical connection between the wireless charging module and the first circuit board,

wherein the wireless charging module is disposed in proximity of the optical sensor module such that the second circuit board is located in an opening area substantially surrounded by a charging coil, and

wherein a portion of the first connection member is accommodated within the opening area.

The wearable device of claim 12 , wherein, when viewed in a direction from a side of the wearable device, the second circuit board is located between a first geometric plane extending a third surface of the wireless charging module and a second geometric plane extending a fourth of the wireless charging module, and the wireless charging module is at least partially overlapped with at least one of the light emitter or the light receiver.

14 . The wearable device of claim 12 , wherein the optical sensor module includes a separation sidewall disposed between the light emitter and the light receiver such that a first ending portion of the separation sidewall being adhesively attached to the rear cover.

15 . The wearable device of claim 14 , wherein a second ending portion of the separation sidewall is adhesively attached to the same surface of the second circuit board.

16 . The wearable device of claim 12 , wherein the wireless charging module is adhesively attached to the rear cover.

17 . The wearable device of claim 12 , wherein the second circuit board is substantially surrounded by a charging coil included in the wireless charging module,

wherein the wireless charging module is electrically connected with the first circuit board through the first connection member, the second circuit board and a second connector, and

wherein the second connector is extended from the charging coil toward the second circuit board.

18 . The wearable device of claim 17 , wherein the second circuit board is located in the opening area, and

wherein the light receiver includes a plurality of light receiving elements arranged substantially along with a periphery of the opening area.

19 . The wearable device of claim 12 , wherein the rear cover includes a plurality of electrodes for measuring a biometric signal related to an electrocardiogram, and the plurality of electrodes is electrically connected with the second circuit board.

20 . The wearable device of claim 1 , further comprising a battery between the first circuit board and a front cover,

wherein the battery is charged based on a current induced in the charging coil of the wireless charging module, and

wherein the battery is electrically connected with the wireless charging module through the first connection member and the second connection member.
