Abstract

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, information associated with identifying a communication diversity configuration. The UE may receive, from the base station, a transport block on a downlink in accordance with the communication diversity configuration. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Claims (38)

1 . A user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:

one or more memories; and

one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, configured to:

change a polarization selection of an antenna panel of the UE;

transmit, to a network entity and based at least in part on changing the polarization selection, an antenna configuration report associated with a set of antenna panels of the UE, wherein the antenna configuration report includes information identifying the change to the polarization selection;

receive, from the network entity, a command in response to the antenna configuration report;

transmit, to the network entity and triggered by the command, a set of sounding reference signals; and

communicate with the network entity using an antenna configuration determined based at least in part on the set of sounding reference signals.

2 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the antenna configuration report includes information further identifying at least one of: a change to an antenna panel selection or a change to a beam selection.

3 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to receive a request for the antenna configuration report and transmit the antenna configuration report in response to the request.

4 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to transmit the antenna configuration report using pre-configured uplink resources.

5 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the set of sounding reference signals includes sounding reference signals transmitted using a plurality of polarization configurations.

6 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to align to a polarization of the network entity based at least in part on a result of transmitting the set of sounding reference signals.

7 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the antenna configuration report includes a ranking of multiple antenna configurations evaluated by the UE.

8 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the antenna configuration is used for both uplink and downlink communication.

9 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to select the antenna configuration from a predefined set of configurations stored in the one or more memories.

10 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to determine channel quality associated with each antenna configuration prior to transmitting the antenna configuration report.

11 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to transmit the antenna configuration report via an uplink control channel.

12 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to transmit the antenna configuration report periodically.

13 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the antenna configuration report identifies a first configuration for transmission and a second configuration for reception.

14 . A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:

changing a polarization selection of an antenna panel of the UE;

transmitting, to a network entity and based at least in part on changing the polarization selection, an antenna configuration report associated with a set of antenna panels of the UE, wherein the antenna configuration report includes information identifying the change to the polarization selection;

receiving, from the network entity, a command in response to the antenna configuration report;

transmitting, to the network entity and triggered by the command, a set of sounding reference signals; and

communicating with the network entity using an antenna configuration determined based at least in part on the set of sounding reference signals.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the antenna configuration report includes information identifying at least one of: a polarization selection, an antenna panel selection, or a beam selection.

16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein transmitting the antenna configuration report comprises using pre-configured uplink resources.

17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein transmitting the set of sounding reference signals comprises transmitting with different polarization configurations.

18 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising aligning to a polarization of the network entity based at least in part on a result of transmitting the set of sounding reference signals.

19 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the antenna configuration report includes information further identifying at least one of: a change to an antenna panel selection or a change to a beam selection.

20 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of instructions for wireless communication, the set of instructions comprising:

one or more instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a user equipment (UE), cause the UE to:

change a polarization selection of an antenna panel of the UE;

transmit, to a network entity and based at least in part on changing the polarization selection, an antenna configuration report associated with a set of antenna panels of the UE, wherein the antenna configuration report includes information identifying the change to the polarization selection;

receive, from the network entity, a command in response to the antenna configuration report;

transmit, to the network entity and triggered by the command, a set of sounding reference signals; and

communicate with the network entity using an antenna configuration determined based at least in part on the set of sounding reference signals.
