BGL6 beta-glucosidase and nucleic acids encoding the same
The present invention provides a novel β-glucosidase nucleic acid sequence, designated bgl6, and the corresponding BGL6 amino acid sequence. The invention also provides expression vectors and host cells comprising a nucleic acid sequence encoding BGL6, recombinant BGL6 proteins and methods for producing the same.
1. A recombinant host cell comprising a deletion or insertion or other alteration in the β-glucosidase 6 (bgl6) gene encoding SEQ ID NO: 2 which inactivates the gene and prevents BGL6 polypeptide production, wherein the host cell is Trichoderma reesei.
2. The host cell of claim 1 , comprising a deletion or insertion in the bgl6 gene encoding SEQ ID NO: 2 which inactivates the gene and prevents BGL6 polypeptide production.
3. The host cell of claim 1 , comprising a deletion in the bgl6 gene encoding SEQ ID NO: 2 which inactivates the gene and prevents BGL6 polypeptide production.
