Bodipy dyes for biological imaging

1. A compound of Formula (I):

wherein:

is a BODIPY ligand system;

X is 18 F or 19 F;

L is absent or a linker; and

Z is selected from the group consisting of: a group reactive with a biologically active molecule and a detectable agent;

wherein the moiety O-L-Z is selected from the group consisting of:

wherein n and m are independently an integer from 1 to 20; and

p is an integer from 0 to 20.

2. A compound of Formula (II):

wherein:

is a BODIPY ligand system;

X is 18 F or 19 F;

L is absent or a linker; and

Z is selected from the group consisting of: a group reactive with a biologically active molecule and a detectable agent;

wherein the moiety (C 2 )-L-Z is selected from the group consisting of:

wherein n and m are each independently an integer from 1 to 20, and p is an integer from 0 to 20.

3. The compound of claim 1 , wherein X is 18 F.

4. A compound selected from the group consisting of:

wherein the F bound to B is 18 F or 19 F.

5. A compound selected from the group consisting of:

wherein the F bound to B is 18 F or 19 F.

6. A compound of Formula (III):

wherein:

is a BODIPY ligand system selected from the group consisting of:

X is 18 F or 19 F; and

R 1 is selected from the group consisting of: a substituted or unsubstituted C 1-20 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C 1-20 alkoxy, or substituted or unsubstituted C 1-20 alkynyl.
