Abstract

A retractable storage system for a handheld electronic device includes a protective housing member operative shaped and sized to bound the handheld electronic device and enable wrapping around the handheld electronic device. At least one accessory station structured is on the housing member, and has an aperture to arrest and dispense an accessory item. At least one storage chamber is structured on the housing member to store the accessory item. The protective housing member has a first housing part and a second housing part which combine to form one protective housing member.

Claims (16)

1. A storage system for a handheld electronic device, comprising:

a protective housing member configured to removably attach to the handheld electronic device, the handheld electronic device being either a portable smartphone or a tablet;

an accessory station configured to store and charge at least one accessory item of the handheld electronic device, the accessory station being independent from the protective housing member and the accessory station is configured to interface with a surface of the protective housing member to faciliate a power transfer between a power source of the handheld electronic device and either a power source of said at least one accessory item or a power source of the accessory station to enable the handheld electronic device to charge said at least one accessory item;

at least one electronic logic board being a component of at least one of the following: the protective housing member, said accessory station, and the handheld electronic device;

at least one signal transmitter mounted on said at least one electronic logic board, said at least one signal transmitter configured to transmit an electronic or electrical signal between at least two of the following: said at least one accessory item, said accessory station, said at least one power source, the protective housing member and the handheld electronic device; and

wherein a software installed on said at least one electronic logic board is configured to control the power transfer from said at least one power source.

2. The storage system of claim 1 , wherein said at least one accessory item is a wireless camera.

3. The storage system of claim 1 , wherein said at least one accessory item is a virtual reality or augmented reality device.

4. The storage system of claim 1 , wherein said at least one accessory item is at least one wireless headphone.

5. The storage system of claim 1 , wherein said at least one accessory item is an unmanned aerial vehicle, drone or micro drone.

6. The storage system of claim 1 , further comprising at least one wireless signal receiver.

The storage system of claim 6 , wherein said at least one wireless signal receiver is configured to wirelessly connect an external corresponding wireless signal transmitter, that is distinct from the handheld electronic device, to at least one of the following: a component of the storage system, the electronic logic board, said at least one power source, the handheld electronic device and said at least one accessory item.

The storage system of claim 1 , further comprising electrical contacts mounted on or near the accessory station, the electrical contacts being configured to electrically connect said at least one accessory item to one of the following to transfer a charging power: said at least one battery and said at least one electronic logic board.

9. The storage system of claim 1 , wherein the accessory station comprises magnetic material configured to removably attach to corresponding magnetic material located in at least one of the protective housing member and the handheld electronic device.

The storage system of claim 1 , wherein said at least one signal transmitter is a wireless transmitter configured to transfer power between at least two of the following: said at least one accessory item, said accessory station, said at least one power source, a component of the protective house member, and the handheld electronic device.

11. The storage system of claim 7 , the wherein external corresponding wireless signal transmitter is a wireless charging device.
