Abstract

A system and methods comprise a touchscreen at a premises. The touchscreen includes a processor coupled to a security system at the premises. User interfaces are presented via the touchscreen and include a security interface that provides control of functions of and access to data collected by the security system, and a network interface that provides access to network devices. A plurality of network devices at the premises is coupled to the touchscreen. A security server at a remote location is coupled to the touchscreen. The security server comprises a client interface through which remote client devices exchange data with the touchscreen and the security system. The client interface is a cross-client interface provided by a client view model of at least one of the touchscreen and the security server that normalizes information of the plurality of network devices and the security system.

Claims (31)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a first device located external to a premises and from a second device located external to the premises, a command associated with one or more settings of a premises device located at the premises;

based on the command, sending, to the premises device, an indication of the command; and

causing, based on a time from the sending the indication of the command, an action associated with the command.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises sending, to the second device, a notification indicative of a failure or a success of the command.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises determining a success or a failure of the command.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing, based on the time from the sending the indication of the command, the action associated with the command is further based on the time from the sending the indication of the command satisfying an expiration time before receiving premises device data from the premises device.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing the action associated with the command is further based on receiving premises device data before the time from the sending the indication of the command satisfies an expiration time.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the premises device data is indicative of at least one of a success of the command or a failure of the command.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises resetting the premises device.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises removing the command from a queue.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises modifying an appearance of a user interface icon associated with the premises device.

10. A first device located external to a premises comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the first device to:

receive, from a second device located external to the premises, a command associated with one or more settings of a premises device located at the premises;

based on the command, send, to the premises device, an indication of the command; and

cause, based on a time from the sending the indication of the command, an action associated with the command.

11. The first device of claim 10 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises sending, to the second device, a notification indicative of a failure or a success of the command.

12. The first device of claim 10 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises determining a success or a failure of the command.

13. The first device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions that cause, based on the time from the sending the indication of the command, the action associated with the command further causes the first device to cause the action based on the time from the sending the indication of the command satisfying an expiration time before receiving premises device data from the premises device.

14. The first device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions that cause the action associated with the command further cause the first device to cause the action based on receiving premises device data before the time from the sending the indication of the command satisfies an expiration time.

15. The first device of claim 10 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises resetting the premises device.

16. The first device of claim 10 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises modifying an appearance of a user interface icon associated with the premises device.

17. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause:

receiving, by a first device located external to a premises and from a second device located external to the premises, a command associated with one or more settings of a premises device located at the premises;

based on the command, sending, to the premises device, an indication of the command; and

causing, based on a time from the sending the indication of the command, an action associated with the command.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises resetting the premises device.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the action associated with the command comprises removing the command from a queue.
