Abstract

A communication method and system for converging a 5 th -Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4 th -Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT) are provided. The communication method and system may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A method of a user equipment (UE) for receiving data is provided. The method includes receiving, from a base station, information on radio resources allocated to the UE, and receiving, from the base station, data based on the information on the radio resources. The radio resources are associated with a plurality of symbols in a time domain and a plurality of resource block groups in a frequency domain. The information on the radio resources includes at least one of first information on a starting symbol, or second information on a size of each of the resource block groups.

Claims (42)

1. A method performed by a terminal for receiving data in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

identifying a number of resource blocks (RBs) in a bandwidth part configured for a terminal;

identifying a resource block group (RBG) size based on an RBG size configuration and the number of RBs in the bandwidth part, wherein the RBG size configuration is configured for the terminal among at least two RBG size configurations;

identifying a plurality of RBGs in the bandwidth part based on the RBG size;

receiving, from a base station, downlink control information including information on frequency domain resource allocation;

identifying at least one RBG allocated to the terminal among the plurality of RBGs based on the information on frequency domain resource allocation; and

receiving, from the base station, downlink data on the at least one RBG.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the downlink control information further includes information on time domain resource allocation indicating one of a plurality of candidate configurations, each candidate configuration including information on a starting symbol of consecutive symbols allocated to the terminal and a number of the consecutive symbols counting from the starting symbol.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, from the base station, configuration information including a symbol level bitmap in time domain, the symbol level bitmap indicating whether a corresponding symbol is available for downlink data transmission.

4. A method performed by a base station for transmitting data in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

identifying a number of resource blocks (RBs) in a bandwidth part configured for a terminal;

identifying a resource block group (RBG) size based on an RBG size configuration and the number of RBs in the bandwidth part, wherein the RBG size configuration is configured for the terminal among at least two RBG size configurations;

identifying a plurality of RBGs in the bandwidth part based on the RBG size;

allocating at least one RBG among the plurality of RBGs to the terminal;

transmitting, to the terminal, downlink control information including information on frequency domain resource allocation, the information on frequency domain resource allocation indicating the at least one RBG among the plurality of RBGs; and

transmitting, to the terminal, downlink data on the at least one RBG.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the downlink control information further includes information on time domain resource allocation indicating one of a plurality of candidate configurations, each candidate configuration including information on a starting symbol of consecutive symbols allocated to the terminal and a number of the consecutive symbols counting from the starting symbol.

6. The method of claim 4 , further comprising:

transmitting, to the terminal, configuration information including a symbol level bitmap in time domain, the symbol level bitmap indicating whether a corresponding symbol is available for downlink data transmission.
