Abstract

Claims (38)

1. A fracturing system comprising:

a power source having an electrical output;

an electric motor in electrical communication with the electrical output;

a variable frequency drive (VFD) connected to the electric motor;

a fracturing pump that is driven by the electric motor;

at least one switchgear in electrical communication with the electrical output; and

a wireline system in electrical communication with the electrical output via the at least one switchgear, wherein the electrical output provided to the wireline system is adjusted via one or more transformers positioned between the at least one switchgear and the wireline system, wherein the wireline system comprises a wireline tool that is disposable in a wellbore that is selected from the group consisting of a perforating gun, a plug, a formation logging tool, a cutting tool, a casing imaging tool, and combinations thereof.

2. The fracturing system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one switchgear is positioned on a trailer and includes a housing.

3. The fracturing system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one switchgear is configured to disconnect one or more electrical connections responsive to a signal received from a datavan.

4. The fracturing system of claim 1 , further comprising:

one or more distribution panels configured to couple the electrical output to the wireline system.

5. The fracturing system of claim 1 , further comprising:

one or more fracturing transformers associated with the fracturing pump, wherein the one or more fracturing transformers step at least one of around 13.8 kV power or around 4180 V power from the power source down.

6. The fracturing system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a blender; and

a second VFD connected to a blender discharge motor, wherein the blender discharge motor is speed controlled.

7. The fracturing system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more transformers are separate from different transformers associated with the fracturing pump.

8. The fracturing system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more transformers are configured to create a power grid separate from a fracturing power grid configured to power the electric motor.

9. The fracturing system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more transformers comprise at least one emergency shut-off switch.

10. The fracturing system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a pump trailer supporting the electric motor, the fracturing pump, and the VFD.

11. A system, comprising:

a power source having an electrical output;

a pump trailer including at least an electric motor in electrical communication with the electrical output, a fracturing pump driven by the electric motor, and a variable frequency drive (VFD) connected to the electric motor;

at least one switchgear connected to the power source; and

a wireline system that is in electrical communication with the electrical output via the at least one switchgear, wherein the wireline system is selected from the group consisting of a perforating system, a plugging system, a formation logging system, a tubular cutting system, a tubular imaging system, and combinations thereof.

12. The system of claim 11 , further comprising:

a transformer positioned between the wireline system and the at least one switchgear to adjust an output voltage of the power source for use by the wireline system.

13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the transformer includes a 3000 KVA transformer that steps down power from the power source.

14. The system of claim 12 , further comprising:

a pump down blender; and

a datavan;

wherein each of the pump down blender and the datavan are in electrical communication with the transformer.

15. The system of claim 11 , wherein the power source includes at least one of a generator or a utility line.

16. The system of claim 11 , further comprising:

fracturing support equipment including at least one of sand equipment, a hydration unit, and a blender.

17. The system of claim 11 , wherein a first transformer is associated with the wireline system and a second transformer is associated with the pump trailer.

18. The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one switchgear is configured to disconnect one or more electrical connections responsive to a signal received from a datavan.
