Abstract

A green energy electrical charging station including a support pole; a bench for connecting to and extending from the support pole; a canopy for connecting to the support pole and shading at least a portion of the bench; at least one solar collector on at least a portion of the canopy; at least one wind turbine supported by the pole above the canopy; a battery for electrical association with the at least one solar collector and the at least one wind turbine; a first electrical circuit for delivering electrical power from the at least one wind turbine and solar collector to the battery; at least one electrical outlet located in proximity to the bench; and a second electrical circuit for delivering electrical power from the battery to the electrical outlet.

Claims (37)

1. A green energy electrical charging station, comprising:

a support pole;

a bench configured for connecting to and extending from the support pole;

a canopy including a plurality of overlapping panels and configured for connecting to the support pole for shading at least a portion of the bench, wherein at least one of the overlapping panels at least partially covers at least another one of the overlapping panels, and wherein the canopy is connected at a pitch or incline relative to the support pole;

at least one solar collector configured for location on at least a portion of the canopy;

at least one battery for electrical association with the at least one solar collector;

at least one first electrical circuit for delivering electrical power from the at least one solar collector to the at least one battery; and

at least one electrical outlet for location in proximity to the bench.

2. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , wherein the support pole is foldable.

3. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , wherein the support pole is extendable.

4. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , wherein the support pole includes at least one channel therein configured to facilitate upward airflow.

5. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , wherein the support pole includes at least one vented service door.

6. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , wherein the bench is configured to be supported on one side thereof by the support pole.

7. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , further comprising a bicycle rack configured to be supported on one side thereof by the support pole.

8. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 7 , wherein the canopy is sized to at least partially shade at least one of the bench, or the bicycle rack.

9. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 7 , wherein at least one of the support pole and the bench and the bicycle rack has an associated wireless charging surface.

10. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , further comprising an additional bench, and wherein the support pole is configured to support two benches.

11. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , wherein the at least one solar collector includes at least two solar collectors each located on differing ones of the plurality of overlapping panels.

12. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , further comprising at least one wind turbine configured to be supported by the support pole above the canopy.

13. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 12 , wherein the at least one wind turbine includes at least two vertical axis wind turbines.

14. The green energy charging electrical station of claim 13 , wherein the at least two vertical axis wind turbines are arranged for fluid coupling therebetween.

15. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 12 , wherein the support pole includes a base section for association with the bench, a top section for association with the at least one wind turbine and canopy, and a middle section for interconnecting the base section with the top section.

16. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , further comprising a security camera and an illumination source associated with the support pole.

17. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 16 , wherein the security camera and the illumination source are configured to receive electrical power from the at least one battery.

18. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 1 , further comprising at least one third electrical circuit for connectivity to an electrical grid.

19. The green energy charging electrical station of claim 18 , further comprising a controllable switch configured to alternately toggle between a battery mode of operation and a grid mode of operation.

20. The green energy charging electrical station of claim 1 , further comprising at least one second electrical circuit for delivering electrical power from the at least one battery to the at least one electrical outlet.

21. A green energy electrical charging station, comprising:

a foldable support pole including a first pole section, a second pole section, and at least one hinge for pivoting the second pole section relative to the first pole section, wherein the second pole section is located adjacent to and aligned with the first pole section in a folded configuration;

a bench configured for connecting to and extending from the foldable support pole;

a canopy configured for connecting to the foldable support pole for shading at least a portion of the bench, and wherein the canopy is connected at a pitch or incline relative to the foldable support pole;

at least one green energy source disposed on at least a portion of the canopy;

at least one battery for electrical association with the at least one green energy source;

at least one first electrical circuit for delivering electrical power from the at least one green energy source to the at least one battery; and

at least one electrical outlet for location in proximity to the bench.

22. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 21 , wherein the at least one green energy source includes at least one solar collector.

23. The green energy electrical charging station of claim 21 , wherein the at least one green energy source includes at least one wind turbine.
