Abstract

The compound 2-(4-tert-Butylphenyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-5-ol: and its use are disclosed. The compound activates Ppargc1a and, as a consequence, is useful for treating neuroinflammation and for treating a variety of neurodegenerative diseases.

Claims (4)

1. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of formula:

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier wherein the pharmaceutical composition is suitable for oral or parenteral administration.

2. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the carrier is suitable for oral administration.

3. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the carrier is suitable for parenteral administration.
