Antimicrobial compositions and related methods of use
Antimicrobial compositions comprising one or more compound components generally recognized as safe for human consumption, and related methods of use, such compositions and methods as can be employed in a wide range of agricultural, industrial, building, pharmaceutical, personal care and/or animal care products and applications.
1. A composition comprising propanoic acid, a C 4 -C 6 acid salt, a C 2 -C 5 acid ester and benzaldehyde.
2. The composition of claim 1 wherein said acid salt is selected from salts of isobutyric acid, salts of citric acid and combinations thereof.
3. The composition of claim 2 wherein said acid salt is selected from salts of isobutyric acid and combinations thereof.
4. The composition of claim 3 wherein said salt is selected from potassium and ammonium salts of isobutyric acid.
5. The composition of claim 1 wherein said ester is selected from esters of a C 4 acid and combinations thereof.
6. The composition of claim 5 wherein said ester is selected from esters of isobutyric acid and combinations thereof.
7. The composition of claim 6 wherein said ester is isobutyl isobutyrate.
8. The composition of claim 1 applied to a substrate selected from fruits, nuts and vegetables.
9. A composition comprising propanoic acid, a salt of isobutyric acid, a C 2 -05 acid ester and benzaldehyde.
10. The composition of claim 9 wherein said salt is selected from potassium and ammonium salts of isobutyric acid.
11. The composition of claim 9 wherein said ester is selected from esters of a C 4 acid and combinations thereof.
12. The composition of claim 11 wherein said ester is selected from esters of isobutyric acid and combinations thereof.
13. The composition of claim 12 wherein said ester is isobutyl isobutyrate.
14. The composition of claim 9 applied to a substrate selected from fruits, nuts and vegetables.
15. A composition comprising propanoic acid, a salt of isobutyric acid, an ester of a C 4 acid and benzaldehyde.
16. The composition of claim 15 wherein said salt is selected from potassium and ammonium salts of isobutyric acid.
17. The composition of claim 15 wherein said ester is selected from esters of isobutyric acid and combinations thereof.
18. The composition of claim 15 wherein said ester is isobutyl isobutyrate.
19. The composition of claim 15 applied to a substrate selected from fruits, nuts and vegetables.
20. A composition comprising propanoic acid, a salt of isobutyric acid, isobutyl isobutyrate and benzaldehyde.
21. The composition of claim 20 wherein said salt is selected from potassium and ammonium salts of isobutyric acid.
22. The composition of claim 20 applied to a substrate selected from fruits, nuts and vegetables.
