Abstract

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for medical imaging. The system may comprise a scope assembly. The scope assembly may comprise a housing unit configured to releasably couple to at least a portion of an elongated scope. The scope assembly may comprise an imaging unit operably coupled to the housing unit, wherein the imaging unit comprises an optics assembly configured to (i) receive one or more light beams that are transmitted through the elongated scope and (ii) direct at least a portion of the one or more light beams onto two or more locations within a subject's body. At least one of the two or more locations may comprise a target site. The imaging unit may be configured to move via a rotational and/or translational motion relative to the housing unit to alter a field of view when imaging within the subject's body.

Claims (20)

1. A scope assembly, comprising:

a housing unit configured to enclose at least a portion of an elongated scope, wherein the housing unit is releasably coupled to the at least the portion of the elongated scope; and

an imaging unit operably coupled to a distal end of the housing unit, wherein the imaging unit comprises an optics assembly configured to direct one or more light beams that are transmitted through the elongated scope onto a target site on or within a subject's body, wherein the imaging unit comprises a camera and a depth sensor, wherein the camera and the depth sensor are located on different sides of the imaging unit, such that the camera and the depth sensor have different optical axes,

wherein the imaging unit is movable via a rotational or translational motion relative to the housing unit to alter a field of view, and wherein the optics assembly is configured to move independent from a position, an orientation, or a movement of the imaging unit.

2. The scope assembly of claim 1 , wherein the optics assembly is configured to move via a rotational or translational motion relative to an optical path of the one or more light beams.

3. The scope assembly of claim 1 , wherein the optics assembly is further configured to move relative to an optical path of the one or more light beams as the one or more light beams are transmitted through the elongated scope.

4. The scope assembly of claim 3 , wherein the optics assembly is movable to direct the one or more light beams to a different target site within the subject's body.

5. The scope assembly of claim 3 , wherein the optics assembly is configured to move out of the optical path when the imaging unit is oriented substantially parallel to a length of the elongated scope, thereby allowing the one or more light beams to travel through the imaging unit and towards the subject's body without being interrupted by the optics assembly.

6. The scope assembly of claim 1 , wherein the optics assembly is configured to move relative to a position, an orientation, or a movement of the imaging unit.

7. The scope assembly of claim 1 , wherein the optics assembly comprises one or more mirrors.

8. The scope assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a processor operatively coupled to the optics assembly, wherein the processor is configured to direct movement of the optics assembly.

9. The scope assembly of claim 1 , wherein an optical axis of the camera is oriented substantially parallel to a length of the elongated scope when the imaging unit is in a first configuration relative to the housing unit.

10. The scope assembly of claim 9 , wherein an optical axis of the depth sensor is oriented substantially parallel to the length of the elongated scope when the imaging unit is in a second configuration relative to the housing unit.

11. The scope assembly of claim 10 , wherein a distal end of the elongated scope is optically exposed through at least a portion of the imaging unit when the imaging unit is in the second configuration, such that the distal end of the elongated scope is optically in communication with the target site on or within the subject's body.

12. The scope assembly of claim 11 , wherein the at least the portion of the imaging unit comprises (i) an opening or (ii) an optically transparent or semi-transparent window.

13. The scope assembly of claim 10 , wherein the imaging unit is configured to deploy in the second configuration upon contact by a distal end of the elongated scope.

14. The scope assembly of claim 13 , wherein the imaging unit further comprises a spring mechanism configured to deploy the imaging unit in the second configuration.

15. The scope assembly of claim 10 , wherein the first configuration is a non-articulated configuration of the imaging unit, and the second configuration is one of a plurality of articulated configurations of the imaging unit.

16. The scope assembly of claim 1 , wherein an optical axis of the depth sensor and an optical axis of the camera are non-parallel to each other.

17. The scope assembly of claim 16 , wherein the optical axis of the depth sensor is substantially orthogonal to the optical axis of the camera.
