Abstract

A device and a method for cooling living tissues for a medical purpose and other purposes are proposed. The device may include a container configured to accommodate a cooling medium, the container including a plurality of divided members each having a contact surface which is thermally coupled with the cooling medium. The device may also include a cooling generator configured to provide cooling energy to the container, and disposed on another surface of the divided member other than the contact surface. The device may further include a lubricating member provided to the contact surface of the divided member, wherein the container is configured to be thermally coupled with the cooling medium via the lubricating member.

Claims (41)

1. A cooling device for cooling a target area, the cooling device comprising:

a cooling module comprising a cooling medium and a cooling unit, the cooling medium extending along a first axis, and the cooling unit being configured to cool the cooling medium and generate heat;

a heat transfer unit thermally coupled to the cooling unit and configured to transfer heat generated by the cooling unit;

a heat dissipater thermally coupled to the heat transfer unit and configured to dissipate heat transferred by the heat transfer unit, the heat dissipater spaced apart from the cooling module in a first direction; and

a blower configured to blow heat dissipated from the heat dissipater,

wherein the heat dissipater comprises a first heat dissipating member and a second heat dissipating member separated from and unconnected to the first heat dissipating member, the first heat dissipating member is positioned on a first side of the first axis and the second heat dissipating member is positioned on a second opposing side of the first axis, and

wherein the blower is disposed between the first heat dissipating member and the second heat dissipating member, such that the blower is configured to generate airflow passing the first heat dissipating member, the blower, and the second heat dissipating member in this order.

2. The cooling device of claim 1 , wherein the first heat dissipating member comprises a first plurality of fins and the second heat dissipating member comprises a second plurality of fins, and wherein the first plurality of fins and the second plurality of fins form a plurality of airflow channels.

3. The cooling device of claim 1 , wherein the blower comprises a plurality of fans arranged between the first heat dissipating member and the second heat dissipating member, along the first direction.

4. The cooling device of claim 1 , further comprising:

a first body defining an inner space, the inner space comprising a first region where the cooling module is disposed and a second region where the heat dissipater and the blower are disposed,

wherein the heat transfer unit interconnects the cooling module and the heat dissipater such that heat generated in the first region is transferred to the second region, dissipated in the second region, and released from a housing.

5. The cooling device of claim 4 , further comprising:

a second body extending from the first body in a direction different from the first direction and having a grip portion for a user to grip.

6. The cooling device of claim 5 , wherein the second body further comprises a control button configured to allow an input of the user to control the cooling device, and

wherein the control button is arranged closer to the cooling module than the heat dissipater.

7. The cooling device of claim 1 , wherein the blower extends in a direction parallel to a longitudinal direction of each of the first and second heat dissipating members while disposed between the first and second heat dissipating members.

8. The cooling device of claim 1 , wherein the first heat dissipating member comprises an airflow exit surface from which the airflow exits, wherein the second heat dissipating member comprises an airflow receiving surface configured to receive the airflow that exits the airflow exit surface of the first heat dissipating member and is blown by the blower, and wherein the blower faces both the airflow exit surface of the first heat dissipating member and the airflow receiving surface of the second heat dissipating member.

9. The cooling device of claim 1 , wherein the cooling unit comprises a first surface facing the cooling medium and a second surface opposing the first surface, and

wherein the heat transfer unit comprises a first portion attached to the second surface of the cooling unit, a second portion attached to the heat dissipater, and a connector connecting the first portion and the second portion.

10. The cooling device of claim 1 , wherein the first heat dissipating member and the second heat dissipating member are symmetrically positioned with respect to the first axis.

11. A cooling device for cooling a target area, the cooling device comprising:

a cooling module comprising a cooling medium and a cooling unit, the cooling unit configured to cool the cooling medium and generate heat;

a heat transfer unit thermally coupled to the cooling unit and configured to transfer heat generated by the cooling unit, the heat transfer unit extending in a first direction;

a heat dissipater thermally coupled to the heat transfer unit and configured to dissipate heat transferred by the heat transfer unit, the heat dissipater spaced apart from the cooling module in the first direction; and

a blower configured to blow heat dissipated from the heat dissipater,

wherein the heat dissipater comprises a first heat dissipating member and a second heat dissipating member apart from each other in a second direction crossing the first direction, and

wherein the blower is disposed between the first heat dissipating member and the second heat dissipating member, such that the blower is configured to generate airflow passing the first heat dissipating member, the blower, and the second heat dissipating member in this order,

wherein the heat transfer unit comprises a first heat pipe and a second heat pipe apart from each other, and

wherein the first heat pipe is thermally coupled to the first heat dissipating member and the second heat pipe is thermally coupled to the second heat dissipating member.

12. The cooling device of claim 11 , wherein the first heat pipe passes through the first heat dissipating member and further extends beyond the first heat dissipating member, and wherein the second heat pipe passes through the second heat dissipating member and further extends beyond the second heat dissipating member.

13. A cooling device for cooling a target area, the cooling device comprising:

a cooling module comprising a cooling medium and a cooling unit, the cooling unit configured to cool the cooling medium and generate heat;
