Abstract

An AI-based platform for automated labor law compliance associated with mining operations is disclosed. The AI-based platform includes a governance system for a mining operation and a reporting system for conveying at least one parameter that is sensed by a sensor of a mine of the mining operation, wherein the at least one parameter is associated with a compliance of the mining operation with a set of labor standards. In some embodiments, the set of labor standards is associated with at least one activity performed by a laborer of the mine, and the AI-based platform conveys an indication of a performance of the activity by the laborer. In some embodiments, the set of labor standards is associated with at least one object associated with a laborer of the mine, and the AI-based platform conveys an indication of a detection of the at least one object.

Claims (170)

1. An artificial-intelligence-based (AI-based) platform for enabling intelligent orchestration and management of power and energy, the AI-based platform comprising:

memory hardware configured to store instructions; and

processor hardware configured to execute the instructions from the memory hardware, wherein the instructions include:

collecting, via at least one of a set of edge devices or a set of internet of things (IoT) devices, data associated with at least one of current carbon generation or emissions of a mining operation;

automatically generating a set of control instructions to govern the mining operation by keeping the mining operation in a range that is offset by available carbon offset credits;

conveying at least one parameter that is sensed by a sensor of a mine of the mining operation, wherein the at least one parameter is associated with a compliance of the mining operation with a set of labor standards; and

providing, via an adaptive energy digital twin, at least one of a visual or an analytic indicator of energy consumption by at least one energy consumer.

2. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein the instructions include:

adapting a transport of data over at least one of a network or a communication system; and

the adapting is based on at least one of:

a congestion condition,

a delay condition,

a latency condition,

a packet loss condition,

an error rate condition,

a cost of transport condition,

a quality-of-service (QOS) condition,

a usage condition,

a market factor condition, or

a user configuration condition.

3. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein the adaptive energy digital twin represents at least one of:

an energy stakeholder entity,

an energy distribution resource,

a stakeholder information technology,

a networking infrastructure entity,

an energy-dependent stakeholder production facility,

a stakeholder transportation system,

a market condition, or

an energy usage priority condition.

4. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein the adaptive energy digital twin is configured to perform at least one of:

filtering energy data,

highlighting energy data,

adjusting energy data, or

generating at least one of a visual or an analytic indicator of energy consumption by at least one of:

a set of machines,

a set of factories, or

a set of vehicles in a vehicle fleet.

5. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein the instructions include at least one of:

extracting energy-related data,

detecting errors in the energy-related data,

correcting errors in the energy-related data,

transforming the energy-related data,

converting the energy-related data,

normalizing the energy-related data,

cleansing the energy-related data,

parsing the energy-related data,

detecting patterns in energy-related data,

detecting content in the energy-related data,

detecting objects in the energy-related data,

compressing the energy-related data,

streaming the energy-related data,

filtering the energy-related data,

loading the energy-related data,

storing the energy-related data,

routing the energy-related data,

transporting the energy-related data, or

maintaining security of the energy-related data.

6. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein:

the instructions include recording, in at least one of a distributed ledger or a blockchain, a set of energy-related events; and

the set of energy-related events includes at least one of:

an energy purchase event,

a sale event,

a service charge associated with an energy purchase event,

a service charge associated with a sale event,

an energy consumption event,

an energy generation event,

an energy distribution event,

an energy storage event,

a carbon emission production event,

a carbon emission abatement event,

a renewable energy credit event,

a pollution production event, or

a pollution abatement event.

7. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein the at least one parameter is based on at least one of:

a set of public data resources that includes at least one of:

a weather data resource,

a satellite data resource,

a census data resource,

a population data resource,

a demographic data resource,

a psychographic data resource,

a market data resource, or

an ecommerce data resource; or

a set of enterprise data resources that includes at least one of:

resource planning data,

sales data,

marketing data,

financial planning data,

demand planning data,

supply chain data,

procurement data,

pricing data,

customer data,

product data, or

operating data.

8. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , further comprising at least one AI-based model or algorithm, wherein the at least one AI-based model or algorithm is trained based on a training data set, and the training data set is based on at least one of:

a set of human tags,

a set of labels,

a set of human interactions with a hardware system,

a set of human interactions with a software system,

a set of outcomes,

a set of AI-generated training data samples,

a supervised learning training process,

a semi-supervised learning training process, or

a deep learning training process.

9. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein:

the instructions include orchestrating delivery of energy to at least one point of consumption; and

the delivery of the energy includes at least one of:

a set of fixed transmission lines,

a set of instances of wireless energy transmission,

a set of deliveries of fuel, or

a set of deliveries of stored energy.

10. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein:

the set of labor standards is associated with at least one activity performed by a laborer of the mine; and

conveying the at least one parameter that is sensed by the sensor includes conveying an indication of a performance of the at least one activity by the laborer that is sensed by the sensor.

11. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein:

the set of labor standards is associated with at least one object associated with a laborer of the mine; and

conveying the at least one parameter that is sensed by the sensor includes conveying an indication of a detection of the at least one object by the sensor.

12. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein:

the set of labor standards includes a threshold of a property of the mine; and

the instructions include conveying a determination based on a comparison of the at least one parameter sensed by the sensor with the threshold.

13. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein the instructions include performing at least one compliance restoration action based on a determination that the at least one parameter sensed by the sensor indicates a condition that is not in compliance with the set of labor standards.

14. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein the instructions include performing at least one emergency response action based on a determination that the at least one parameter sensed by the sensor indicates an occurrence of an emergency associated with the mine.

15. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein:

the instructions include determining a configuration of the sensor to perform sensing of the at least one parameter, and

the configuration is based on the compliance of the mining operation with the set of labor standards.

16. The AI-based platform of claim 15 , wherein:

the set of labor standards is specified in a natural language; and

the instructions include determining the configuration of the sensor based on a natural language parsing of the set of labor standards.

17. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein:

the instructions include performing at least one sensor remediation measure based on a determination of a failure of the sensor to sense the at least one parameter, and

the at least one sensor remediation measure includes at least one of:

initiating a replacement of the sensor,

initiating a diagnostic operation involving the sensor,

initiating a reconfiguration of the sensor to detect the at least one parameter in a different manner,

initiating a request for a laborer of the mine to perform a manual sensing of the at least one parameter, or

initiating a substitution of the sensor of the mine with at least one other sensor of the mine to sense the at least one parameter.

18. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , wherein:

the instructions include verifying that the at least one parameter sensed by the sensor indicates compliance of the mining operation with the set of labor standards, and

the verifying includes at least one of:

verifying a calibration of the sensor of the mine,

verifying the at least one parameter sensed by the sensor of the mine based on a comparison of the at least one parameter with at least one parameter sensed by at least one other sensor of the mine,

requesting manual verification of the at least one parameter by a laborer of the mine, or

requesting verification by a compliance officer that the at least one parameter indicates the compliance of the mining operation with the set of labor standards.

The AI-based platform of claim 1 , further comprising a laborer communication interface that is configured to engage in a communication with a laborer of the mine based on the at least one parameter sensed by the sensor, wherein the communication is associated with the compliance of the mining operation with the set of labor standards.

The AI-based platform of claim 1 , further comprising a user interface that is configured to display a map of the mining operation, wherein the map includes an indication of the compliance of the mining operation with the set of labor standards based on the at least one parameter sensed by the sensor.

21. A method for enabling intelligent orchestration and management of power, the method comprising:

collecting, via at least one of a set of edge devices or a set of internet of things (IoT) devices, data associated with at least one of current carbon generation or emissions of a mining operation;

automatically generating a set of control instructions to govern the mining operation by keeping the mining operation in a range that is offset by available carbon offset credits;

conveying at least one parameter that is sensed by a sensor of a mine of the mining operation, wherein the at least one parameter is associated with a compliance of the mining operation with a set of labor standards; and

providing, via an adaptive energy digital twin, at least one of a visual or an analytic indicator of energy consumption by at least one of a set of machines, a group of factories, or a fleet of vehicles.

22. The method of claim 21 , further comprising performing, via the adaptive energy digital twin, at least one of: filtering energy data, highlighting energy data, or adjusting energy data.

23. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , further comprising:

a user interface that is configured to display a map of the mining operation,

wherein the map includes an indication of the compliance of the mining operation with the set of labor standards based on the at least one parameter sensed by the sensor.

24. A method for enabling intelligent orchestration and management of power and energy, the method comprising:

collecting, via at least one of a set of edge devices or a set of internet of things (IoT) devices, data associated with at least one of current carbon generation or emissions of a mining operation;

automatically generating a set of control instructions to govern the mining operation by keeping the mining operation in a range that is based on at least one of the current carbon generation or the emissions of a mining operation;

conveying at least one parameter that is sensed by a sensor of a mine of the mining operation, wherein the at least one parameter is associated with a compliance of the mining operation associated with at least one of the current carbon generation or the emissions of a mining operation; and

providing, via an adaptive energy digital twin, at least one of a visual or an analytic indicator of energy consumption by one or more machines associated with the mining operation.

25. The method of claim 21 , further comprising performing, via the adaptive energy digital twin, at least one of:

filtering energy data,

highlighting energy data,

adjusting energy data, or

generating at least one of a visual or an analytic indicator of energy consumption by at least one of:

a set of factories, or

a set of vehicles in a vehicle fleet.

26. The AI-based platform of claim 1 , further comprising:

a user interface that is configured to display a map of the mining operation,

wherein the map includes an indication of the compliance based on the at least one parameter sensed by the sensor.
