Abstract

A method and apparatus are described. A method includes determining whether the apparatus is in a coverage enhancement (CE) mode or a non-CE mode. The method further includes receiving a CE-system information block (CE-SIB) on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) based on at least one of a known location or at least one known parameter for the CE-SIB, on a condition that the WTRU is determined to be in the CE mode.

Claims (37)

1. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:

a processor; and

a transceiver,

wherein the processor and the transceiver are configured to obtain, from a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission scrambled using a type of radio network temporary identifier (RNTI), first scheduling information for a downlink shared channel and an indication that the first scheduling information is for system information block 1 (SIB-1) of a plurality of SIBs,

wherein the processor and the transceiver are further configured to obtain, from a second PDCCH transmission scrambled using the same type of RNTI, second scheduling information for the downlink shared channel and an indication that the second scheduling information is for at least one different SIB of the plurality of SIBs, and

wherein the processor and the transceiver are further configured to decode the downlink shared channel, using the first scheduling information and the second scheduling information, and obtain, from the decoded downlink shared channel, the SIB-1 and the at least one different SIBs.

2. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor and the transceiver are further configured to obtain the SIB from the downlink shared channel before obtaining the at least one different SIB.

3. The WTRU of claim 2 , wherein the processor and the transceiver are further configured to derive, from the obtained SIB-1, a system information (SI)-window on the downlink shared channel corresponding to the at least one different SIB, and obtain the at least one different SIB on the downlink shared channel in the derived SI-window.

4. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the at least one different SIB comprises at least one of SIB-2 through SIB-16.

5. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor and the transceiver are further configured to acquire a master information block (MIB) on a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), and obtain, from the MIB, one or more parameters for receiving the first PDCCH transmission and the second PDCCH transmission in a common search space.

6. The WTRU of claim 5 , wherein the one or more parameters comprise at least one of a time location and a frequency location of the common search space.

7. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the type of RNTI is SI radio network temporary identifier (SI-RNTI).

8. A method, implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:

obtaining, from a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission scrambled using a type of radio network temporary identifier (RNTI), first scheduling information for a downlink shared channel and an indication that the first scheduling information is for system information block 1 (SIB-1) of a plurality of SIBs;

obtaining, from a second PDCCH transmission scrambled using the same type of RNTI, second scheduling information for the downlink shared channel and an indication that the second scheduling information is for at least one different SIB of the plurality of SIBs;

decoding the downlink shared channel, using the first scheduling information and the second scheduling information; and

obtaining, from the decoded downlink shared channel, the SIB-1 and the at least one different.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the SIB-1 is obtained from the downlink shared channel before the at least one different SIB is obtained.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

deriving, from the obtained SIB-1, a system information (SI)-window on the downlink shared channel corresponding to the at least one different SIB; and

obtaining the at least one different SIB on the downlink shared channel in the derived SI-window.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the at least one different SIB comprises at least one of SIB-2 through SIB-16.

12. The method of claim 8 , further comprising acquiring a master information block (MIB) on a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), and obtaining, from the MIB, one or more parameters for receiving the first PDCCH transmission and the second PDCCH transmission in a common search space.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the one or more parameters comprise at least one of a time location and a frequency location of the common search space.

14. The method of claim 8 , wherein the type of RNTI is SI radio network temporary identifier (SI-RNTI).

15. A base station comprising:

a processor; and

a transceiver,
