Abstract

Systems and methods that enable a user at a client device interacting with a live streaming platform to make one or more inputs to potentially influence an event occurring in association with a streaming device that is also interacting with the live streaming platform.

Claims (39)

1 . A live streaming platform server comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

receive, from a streaming device, data associated with a portion of a play of a wagering game being displayed in association with the streaming device,

communicate, to a plurality of client devices, data that results in each of the plurality of client devices displaying a live stream comprising at least the portion of the play of the wagering game being displayed in association with the streaming device,

receive, from at least two client devices of the plurality of client devices, data associated with an input received from each of the at least two client devices,

consolidate the inputs received from the at least two client devices to form a consolidated input, and

communicate, to the streaming device, data that results in the streaming device displaying the consolidated input.

The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein each input received from each of the at least two client devices is associated with the portion of the play of the wagering being displayed in association with the streaming device and the consolidated input is displayed by the streaming device in association with the portion of the play of the wagering game.

3 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the consolidated input comprises a collective weighting of different inputs received from the at least two client devices.

4 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the consolidated input comprises different individual inputs received from the at least two client devices.

5 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the at least two client devices are each associated with a qualified user.

The live streaming platform server of claim 5 , wherein the memory device stores a plurality of further instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to determine a qualification of each user of each of the plurality of client devices based on at least one of wagering activity of that user, non-wagering activity of that user, a live streaming platform status of that user and a player tracking status of that user.

7 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the memory device stores a plurality of further instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to randomly select the at least two client devices.

8 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the inputs received from the at least two client devices comprise inputs received within a period of time from being displayed in association with the streaming device.

The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the streaming device comprises any of a first electronic gaming machine, a first slot machine interface board, and a first personal gaming device and one of the plurality of client devices comprises any of a second, different electronic gaming machine, a second, different slot machine interface board, and a second, different personal gaming device.

10 . A device comprising:

a display device;

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

cause the display device to display a portion of a play of a wagering game,

communicate, to a live streaming platform server, data associated with the portion of the play of the wagering game,

receive, from the live streaming platform server, data associated with a consolidated input based on a plurality of inputs received from a plurality of client devices in association with a live stream comprising at least the portion of the play of the wagering game, and

cause the display device to display the consolidated input in association with the portion of the play of the wagering game, the consolidated input comprising at least one of a collective weighting of different inputs received from the plurality of client devices and different individual inputs received from the plurality of client devices.

11 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the processor comprises any of a processor of an electronic gaming machine, a processor of a slot machine interface board, and a processor of a personal gaming device.

12 . A method of operating a live streaming platform server, the method comprising:

receiving, from a streaming device, data associated with a portion of a play of a wagering game being displayed in association with the streaming device,

communicating, to a plurality of client devices, data that results in each of the plurality of client devices displaying a live stream comprising at least the portion of the play of the wagering game being displayed in association with the streaming device,

receiving, from at least two client devices of the plurality of client devices, data associated with an input received from each of the at least two client devices,

consolidating, by a processor, the inputs received from the at least two client devices to form a consolidated input, and

communicating, to the streaming device, data that results in the streaming device displaying the consolidated input.

The method of claim 12 , wherein each input received from each of the at least two client devices is associated with the portion of the play of the wagering being displayed in association with the streaming device and the consolidated input is displayed by the streaming device in association with the portion of the play of the wagering game.

14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the consolidated input comprises a collective weighting of different inputs received from the at least two client devices.

15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the consolidated input comprises different individual inputs received from the at least two client devices.

16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the at least two client devices are each associated with a qualified user.

17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising determining, by the processor, a qualification of each user of each of the plurality of client devices based on at least one of wagering activity of that user, non-wagering activity of that user, a live streaming platform status of that user and a player tracking status of that user.

18 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising randomly selecting, by the processor, the at least two client devices.

19 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the inputs received from the at least two client devices comprise inputs received within a period of time from being displayed in association with the streaming device.

20 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the streaming device comprises any of a first electronic gaming machine, a first slot machine interface board, and a first personal gaming device and one of the plurality of client devices comprises any of a second, different electronic gaming machine, a second, different slot machine interface board, and a second, different personal gaming device.
