Abstract

A condition-responsive wearable device for sensing and indicating proximity of an article with a specific characteristic includes a processor and a sensor. The sensor is configured to detect an article with two or more information sources within a predetermined distance of the sensor. The information sources contain characteristic information of the article. The wearable device also includes a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive predefined characteristic information, select detected characteristic information from at least two of the information sources to compare with the predefined characteristic information, and compare the selected detected characteristic information with the predefined characteristic information. The wearable device includes an indicator configured to generate an alarm in response to detecting a match between the selected detected characteristic information and the predefined characteristic information.

Claims (42)

1 . A condition-responsive wearable device, comprising:

at least one processor;

a first sensor configured to:

detect an article with a plurality of information sources within a first predetermined distance of the first sensor, the plurality of information sources providing first characteristic information and second characteristic information associated with the article; and

detect the first characteristic information from a first information source among the plurality of information sources, wherein the first information source provides a first type of characteristic information;

a second sensor configured to:

detect the article within a second predetermined distance of the second sensor; and

detect the second characteristic information from a second information source among the plurality of information sources, wherein the second information source provides a second type of characteristic information;

an input component configured to receive an input from a user; and

a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:

based on the first characteristic information and the second characteristic information, retrieve predefined characteristic information from the input component;

select detected characteristic information from the first characteristic information and the second characteristic information;

compare the predefined characteristic information and the detected characteristic information; and

generate a notification based on comparing the predefined characteristic information and the detected characteristic information.

2 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the first information source and the second information source comprise at least one of: a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag, a label, a Quick Response (QR) code, or a physical shape.

3 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the first sensor comprises at least one of a Quick Response Code reader, a barcode reader, a camera, or a Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) reader.

4 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the first sensor is further configured to detect the first information source in response to the first information source being within the first predetermined distance of the first sensor.

5 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , the instructions further comprising updating the detected characteristic information in response to receiving the second characteristic information.

6 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the notification is generated in response to a match or mismatch between the predefined characteristic information and the detected characteristic information.

7 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the notification comprises at least one of: a vibration, a sound, or a displayable alert.

8 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the notification is generated according to alarm intensity data stored at the condition-responsive wearable device.

9 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the article holds sub-articles, and wherein the characteristic information comprises characteristic information for at least a plurality of the sub-articles.

10 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the article is a medicine container.

11 . The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the article is a food-product container.

12 . One or more non-transitory computer-readable media comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause operations comprising:

detecting, using a first sensor of a condition-responsive wearable-device, an article with a plurality of information sources within a first predetermined distance of the first sensor, the plurality of information sources providing first characteristic information and second characteristic information associated with the article;

detecting, using the first sensor of the condition-responsive wearable-device, the first characteristic information from among the plurality of information sources, wherein the first characteristic information a first type of information describing the article;

detecting, using a second sensor of the condition-responsive wearable-device, the article with the plurality of information sources within a second predetermined distance of the second sensor;

detecting, using the second sensor of the condition-responsive wearable-device, the second characteristic information from among the plurality of information sources, wherein the second characteristic information a second type of information describing the article;

receiving third characteristic information from an input component of the condition-responsive wearable-device, wherein the third characteristic information is predetermined;

selecting, by the condition-responsive wearable-device, fourth characteristic information from among the first characteristic information and the second characteristic information;

comparing, by the condition-responsive wearable-device, the third characteristic information and the fourth characteristic information; and

generating, by the condition-responsive wearable-device, a notification based on comparing the third characteristic information and the fourth characteristic information.

13 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of information sources comprise at least one of: a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag, a label, a Quick Response (QR) code, or a physical shape.

14 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein the first sensor comprises at least one of a Quick Response Code reader, a barcode reader, a camera, or a Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) reader.

15 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein the first sensor is configured to detect a first information source in response to the first information source being within the first predetermined distance of the first sensor.

16 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein the instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause operations comprising:

updating the fourth characteristic information in response to receiving the second characteristic information.

17 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein the notification is generated in response to a match or mismatch between the third characteristic information and the fourth characteristic information.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein the notification comprises at least one of: a vibration, a sound, or a displayable alert.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein the notification is generated according to alarm intensity data.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein the article is a medicine container.
