Abstract

Claims (7)

1 . A method for installing a drain in a drain body comprising the steps of:

screwing a castle nut ( 200 ) having peripheral male threads ( 208 ) into a drain body ( 210 ) having threadably matching female threads ( 212 );

inserting a drain ( 100 ) into an interior of the castle nut ( 200 ), the drain ( 100 ) including an outer ring ( 102 ), an inner ring ( 104 ) within the outer ring ( 102 ), and a termination ring ( 106 ) within the inner ring ( 104 ), a top surface of each ring being flush with one another, with spaces between each ring defining drainage paths;

fastening a screw ( 118 ) through the outer ring ( 102 ) and into a threaded opening ( 204 ) in the castle nut ( 200 ); and

tightening the screw ( 118 ) to secure the drain ( 100 ) and castle nut ( 200 ) together so a top surface of the drain ( 100 ) is flush with a top surface of the drain body ( 210 ).

2 . The method for installing a drain according to claim 1 , further comprising a step of determining the female thread type of the drain body ( 210 ).

3 . The method for installing a drain according to claim 2 wherein the step of determining the female thread type of the drain body is determined with a thread key.
