Abstract

An example method for outputting a PID filter list (PFL) includes: receiving RO data from one or more ROs that indicate particular vehicle identifying information (PVII), at least one symptom identifier, and a particular vehicle component; determining, symptom-to-parameter-identifier (PID) mapping data (MD) based on the received RO data and component-to-PID MD; determining, based on the set of available PIDs for the SOV and the symptom-to-PID MD, a PFL, wherein the PFL is associated with the PVII and the at least one symptom identifier, and wherein the PFL indicates a symptom-based subset of PIDs from the set of available PIDs for the SOV; receiving, a request sent over a communication network from a display device, wherein the request comprises the PVII and the at least one symptom identifier; and transmitting, over the communication network to the display device, a response to the request, the response comprising the PFL.

displaying the information card in the dynamic mode with the first baseline range occurs when the particular vehicle is operating in the first operating state, and

modifying the information card in the dynamic mode to include the second baseline range instead of the first baseline range occurs in response to determining when the particular vehicle is operating in the second operating state.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein:

determining when the particular vehicle is operating in the first operating state includes determining an engine revolutions per minute (RPM) of the particular vehicle is within a first engine RPM range and/or an engine temperature of the particular vehicle is within a first engine temperature range, and

determining the particular vehicle is operating in the second operating state includes determining the engine RPM of the particular vehicle is within a second engine RPM range different than the first engine RPM range, and/or an engine temperature of the particular vehicle is within a second engine temperature range different than the first engine temperature range.

17 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the specific vehicle identifying information includes an identifier corresponding to the particular vehicle selected from the group consisting of: a year identifier, a vehicle manufacturer identifier, a vehicle model identifier, and an engine identifier.

18 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the live PID parameter value corresponding the first PID is shown within a plot of live PID parameter values corresponding to the first PID graphed over time.
