a reader configured for ultra-wideband (UWB) communication;
a processor; and
a memory comprising instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the access control system to:
authenticate a first credential of a first mobile device over a first Bluetooth communication connection established between the first mobile device and the access control system;
authenticate a second credential of a second mobile device over a second Bluetooth communication connection established between the second mobile device and the access control system;
receive, via the reader during a UWB ranging session between the first mobile device and the access control system, first UWB data indicative of a location of the first mobile device relative to the reader;
receive, via the reader during a UWB ranging session between the second mobile device and the access control system, second UWB data indicative of a location of the second mobile device relative to the reader;
determine whether a user of the first mobile device intends to access the asset secured by the lock mechanism based on the first UWB data and satisfaction of a first set of one or more intent criteria associated with a first mode of entry;
determine whether a user of the second mobile device intends to access the asset secured by the lock mechanism based on the second UWB data and satisfaction of a second set of one or more intent criteria associated with a second mode of entry. wherein the second set is different from the first set; and
