Abstract

SMA actuators and related methods are described. One embodiment of an actuator includes a base; a plurality of buckle arms; and at least a first shape memory alloy wire coupled with a pair of buckle arms of the plurality of buckle arms. Another embodiment of an actuator includes a base and at least one bimorph actuator including a shape memory alloy material. The bimorph actuator attached to the base.

5. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 4 , wherein the moving mass includes an auto focus assembly, a sensor circuit PCB, and a module circuit PCB.

6. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 4 , wherein an auto focus assembly is fixed to the top buckler assembly via adhesive.

7. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 1 , further comprising an auto focus AF assembly, a sensor circuit PCB, and a module circuit PCB positioned between the top buckler assembly and the bottom buckler assembly.

8. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 7 , wherein the top buckler assembly is configured to receive the AF assembly and the sensor circuit PCB.

9. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 1 , wherein the buckler module tilt OIS assembly is configured to fit in a footprint of up to 14.5 mm in length by up to 14.5 mm in width.

10. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 1 , wherein the top buckler assembly includes one or more buckler arms, each buckler arm is positioned to cause the top buckler assembly to generate a yaw axis motion.

11. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 10 , wherein the bottom buckler assembly includes one or more buckler arms, each positioned to cause the bottom buckler assembly to generate a pitch axis motion.

12. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 11 , wherein the top buckler assembly and the bottom buckler assembly are operable to push away from each other to provide dynamic tilting of the buckler module tilt OIS assembly.

13. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 1 , wherein the push force of the top buckler assembly and the bottom buckler assembly is between 20-30 grams.

14. The buckler module tilt OIS assembly of claim 1 , wherein the yaw tilt sub-assembly includes a tilt sub-assembly buckler frame, a stainless-steel (SST) buckler frame, more than one slide bearings, at least one SMA wire, and an SST slide base.
