Abstract

An interaction point includes a hardware-based processor, a local cache data store that stores attraction data pertaining to an entertainment attraction, and a radio-frequency identification (RFID) reader that receives electromagnetic radiation of a wearable electronic device indicative of an interaction with the interaction point. The hardware-based processor, based upon the interaction with the interaction point: causes feedback to be rendered by the wearable electronic device, causes modification to at least a portion of the attraction data, or both.

Claims (75)

1. A tangible, non-transitory, machine-readable medium, comprising machine-readable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a machine, cause the machine to:

receive, from an initial interaction point of an interactive attraction, an indication of an identifier received at the initial interaction point;

identify whether the identifier is a new identifier to be used with the interactive attraction; and

preheat the interactive attraction for use by identifier, by:

when the identifier is new;

generate and provide for storage, to a remote datastore of the interactive attraction that is remote from the initial interaction point, one or more local cache entries associated with the identifier, wherein the one or more local cache entries comprise initial starting data for use with the interactive attraction; and

when the identifier is not new:

access associated data that is associated with the identifier at a network service; and

generate and provide for storage, to the remote datastore of the interactive attraction, the one or more local cache entries, wherein the one or more local cache entries comprise the associated data.

2. The machine-readable medium of claim 1 , comprising machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the machine to:

identify whether the identifier is new by:

querying the network service for an indication of whether the identifier is new.

3. The machine-readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the querying the network service for the indication, comprises querying for the associated data, wherein when no associated data is returned, the indication indicates that the identifier is new and when the associated data is returned, the indication indicates that the identifier is not new.

4. The machine-readable medium of claim 1 , comprising machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the machine to:

receive interaction point updates from one or more interaction points of the interactive attraction in the local cache entries; and

store the interaction point updates at the network service.

5. The machine-readable medium of claim 4 , comprising machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the machine to:

identify one or more subscriber interactions points of the interactive attraction that have subscribed to a first portion of the interaction point updates; and

provide the first portion of the interaction point updates to the one or more subscriber interaction points.

6. The machine-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein:

the initial interaction point comprises an interaction point placed at a starting point of the interactive attraction, at a check-in location, or both; and

the remote datastore of the interactive attraction is a remote datastore of a different interaction point of the interactive attraction than the initial interaction point.

7. The machine-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the identifier is sourced from a user wearable electronic device.

8. The machine-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the associated data comprises an indication of a previous status of the interactive attraction associated with the identifier.

9. An interactive attraction system, comprising:

a wearable electronic device configured to provide an identifier associated with the wearable electronic device;

a plurality of interaction points communicatively coupled to the wearable electronic device, configured to receive the identifier from the wearable electronic device to cause an interaction status to change with respect to the interactive attraction system;

a network service, communicatively coupled to the plurality of interaction points, configured to:

receive, from an initial interaction point of plurality of interaction points, the identifier, provided by the wearable electronic device to the initial interaction point;

identify whether the identifier is a new identifier to be used with the interactive attraction system; and

preheat the interactive attraction system for use by identifier, by:

when the identifier is new;

generate and provide for storage, to a remote datastore of the interactive attraction system that is remote from the initial interaction point, one or more local cache entries associated with the identifier, wherein the one or more local cache entries comprise initial starting data for use with the interactive attraction system; and

when the identifier is not new:

access associated data that is associated with the identifier at the network service; and

generate and provide for storage, to the remote datastore of the interactive attraction system, the one or more local cache entries, wherein the one or more local cache entries comprise the associated data.

10. The interactive attraction system of claim 9 , wherein the network service is configured to:

identify whether the identifier is new by:

querying the network service for an indication of whether the identifier is new;

when no associated data is returned in response to the querying, identify that the identifier is new; and

when the associated data is returned in response to the querying, identify that the identifier is not new.

11. The interactive attraction system of claim 9 , wherein the network service is configured to:

receive interaction point updates from one or more interaction points of the interactive attraction system in the local cache entries; and

store the interaction point updates at the network service.

12. The interactive attraction system of claim 11 , wherein the network service is configured to:

identify one or more subscriber interactions points of the interactive attraction system that have subscribed to a first portion of the interaction point updates; and

provide the first portion of the interaction point updates to the one or more subscriber interaction points.

13. The interactive attraction system of claim 9 , wherein the initial interaction point comprises an interaction point of the plurality of interaction points that does not have any entries associated with the identifier stored in its local cache.

14. The interactive attraction system of claim 9 , wherein:

the initial interaction point comprises an interaction point of the plurality of interaction points placed at a starting point of the interactive attraction system, at a check-in location, or both; and

the remote datastore of the interactive attraction system is a remote datastore of a different interaction point of the interactive attraction system than the initial interaction point.

15. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

receiving, from an initial interaction point of an interactive attraction, an indication of an identifier received at the initial interaction point;

identifying whether the identifier is a new identifier to be used with the interactive attraction; and

preheating the interactive attraction for use by identifier, by:

when the identifier is new:

generate and provide for storage, to a remote datastore of the interactive attraction that is remote from the initial interaction point, one or more local cache entries associated with the identifier, wherein the one or more local cache entries comprise initial starting data for use with the interactive attraction; and

when the identifier is not new:

access associated data that is associated with the identifier at a network service; and

generate and provide for storage, to the remote datastore of the interactive attraction, the one or more local cache entries, wherein the one or more local cache entries comprise the associated data.

16. The computer-implemented method of claim 15 , comprising:

identifying whether the identifier is new by:

querying the network service for an indication of whether the identifier is new;

when no associated data is returned in response to the querying, identify that the identifier is new; and

when the associated data is returned in response to the querying, identify that the identifier is not new.

17. The computer-implemented method of claim 15 , comprising:

receiving interaction point updates from one or more interaction points of the interactive attraction in the local cache entries; and

storing the interaction point updates at the network service.

18. The computer-implemented method of claim 17 , comprising:

identifying one or more subscriber interactions points of the interactive attraction that have subscribed to a first portion of the interaction point updates; and

providing the first portion of the interaction point updates to the one or more subscriber interaction points.

19. The computer-implemented method of claim 15 , wherein the initial interaction point comprises an interaction point of a plurality of interaction points that does not have any entries associated with the identifier stored in its local cache.
