Abstract

A control circuit usable with a surgical instrument including a displacement member, a motor configured to translate the displacement member, and a position sensor configured to monitor a position of the displacement member is provided. The control circuit includes logic configured to provide a motor set point velocity to the motor and display a first indicia on a display indicative of the motor set point velocity.

Claims (34)

1. A control circuit usable with a surgical instrument comprising a displacement member, a motor configured to translate the displacement member, and a position sensor configured to monitor a position of the displacement member, the control circuit comprising logic configured to:

provide a motor set point velocity to the motor; and

display a first indicia on a display indicative of the motor set point velocity.

The control circuit of claim 1 , wherein the motor set point velocity is configured to cause the motor to drive the displacement member at a velocity, and wherein the logic is further configured to display a second indicia on the display that is indicative of the velocity of the displacement member.

3. The control circuit of claim 2 , wherein the second indicia represents a range of motor set point velocities.

4. The control circuit of claim 1 , wherein a portion of the display occupied by the first indicia corresponds to a velocity of the displacement member.

5. The control circuit of claim 1 , wherein the logic is further configured to cause the display to present a mode indicia that is indicative of a mode of the surgical instrument.

6. The control circuit of claim 5 , wherein the mode comprises an automatic mode and a manual mode.

7. The control circuit of claim 1 , wherein the logic is further configured to:

display an image representative of the displacement member; and

display progress of the image representative of the displacement member as the motor translates the displacement member.

8. The control circuit of claim 1 , wherein the logic is further configured to display a status bar that represents an operation status of the surgical instrument.

9. The control circuit of claim 8 , wherein the status bar represents normal operation when a velocity of the displacement member is within a range of motor set point velocities.

10. The control circuit of claim 8 , wherein the status bar represents cautionary operation when a velocity of the displacement member is outside a range of motor set point velocities.

11. The control circuit of claim 1 , wherein the logic is further configured to:

monitor a condition of a battery; and

cause the display to present an image of a battery indicative of the condition of the battery.

12. A control circuit usable with a surgical instrument comprising a displacement member, a motor configured to translate the displacement member, and a position sensor configured to monitor a position of the displacement member, the control circuit comprising logic configured to:

display an image on a display representative of the displacement member; and

display progress of the image representative of the displacement member as the motor translates the displacement member.

13. The control circuit of claim 12 , wherein the logic is further configured to display a status bar that represents an operation status of the surgical instrument.

14. The control circuit of claim 13 , wherein the status bar represents normal operation when a velocity of the displacement member is within a range of motor set point velocities.

15. The control circuit of claim 13 , wherein the status bar represents cautionary operation when a velocity of the displacement member is outside a range of motor set point velocities.

16. The control circuit of claim 12 , wherein the logic is further configured to:

monitor a condition of a battery; and

cause the display to present an image of a battery indicative of the condition of the battery.

17. A control circuit usable with a surgical instrument comprising a displacement member, a motor configured to translate the displacement member, and a position sensor configured to monitor a position of the displacement member, the control circuit comprising logic configured to:

provide a motor set point velocity to the motor, wherein the motor set point velocity is configured to cause the motor to drive the displacement member at a velocity, and

display a status bar on a display that represents an operation status of the surgical instrument.

18. The control circuit of claim 17 , wherein the status bar represents normal operation when the velocity of the displacement member is within a range of motor set point velocities.

19. The control circuit of claim 17 , wherein the status bar represents cautionary operation when the velocity of the displacement member is outside a range of motor set point velocities.

20. The control circuit of claim 17 , wherein the logic is further configured to:

monitor a condition of a battery; and

cause the display to present an image of a battery indicative of the condition of the battery.
