Abstract

This disclosure relates to image sensors and electronic apparatuses including the same. An image sensor including: a pixel area including shared pixels, wherein each of the shared pixels includes at least two photodiodes that form a group and share a floating diffusion (FD) area; and a transistor (TR) area adjacent to the pixel area, wherein the TR area includes transistor sets corresponding to the shared pixels, wherein, when a first shared pixel and a second shared pixel are arranged adjacent to each other in a first direction, a first TR set corresponding to the first shared pixel and a second TR set corresponding to the second shared pixel share a source region of a first selection TR.

Claims (50)

1. An image sensor, comprising:

a first shared pixel including first-four photodiodes that share a first floating diffusion (FD) area, the first FD area being surrounded by the first-four photodiodes;

a second shared pixel including second-four photodiodes that share a second floating diffusion (FD) area, the second FD area being surrounded by the second-four photodiodes;

a third FD area connected by the first FD area and the second FD area through a first interconnection;

a first reset transistor (TR) connected to the third FD area;

a second reset TR connected to the first reset TR;

a first source follower TR connected to the third FD area; and

a first selection TR connected to the first source follower TR,

wherein the second reset TR and the first reset TR are adjacent to each other,

wherein the first selection TR is connected to a second interconnection via an output vertical contact,

wherein the first shared pixel and the second shared pixel are arranged in a first direction, and

wherein the first reset TR, the second reset TR, the third FD area, the first source follower TR and the first selection TR are arranged in the first direction in the order of the second reset TR, the third FD area, the first reset TR, the first source follower TR and the first selection TR.

2. The image sensor of claim 1 , wherein the first reset TR and the second reset TR are connected in series.

3. The image sensor of claim 2 , wherein the first reset TR and the third FD area are connected in series.

4. The image sensor of claim 3 , further comprising:

an additional TR connected to a power supply voltage.

5. The image sensor of claim 4 , wherein the additional TR is a second selection TR.

6. The image sensor of claim 3 , further comprising:

a second source follower TR connected to the third FD area.

7. The image sensor of claim 6 , further comprising:

a second selection TR connected to a power supply voltage.

8. An image sensor, comprising:

a first shared pixel including first-four photodiodes that share a first floating diffusion (FD) area, the first FD area being surrounded by the first-four photodiodes;

a second shared pixel including second-four photodiodes that share a second floating diffusion (FD) area, the second FD area being surrounded by the second-four photodiodes;

a third FD area connected by the first FD area and the second FD area through an interconnection;

a first reset transistor (TR) connected to the third FD area;

a second reset TR connected to the first reset TR;

a first source follower TR connected to the third FD area;

a first selection TR connected to the first source follower TR; and

a second source follower TR connected to the third FD area,

wherein the second reset TR and the first reset TR are adjacent to each other,

wherein the first selection TR is connected to an output vertical contact,

wherein the third FD area constitutes a common source area of the first reset TR and the second reset TR.

9. The image sensor of claim 8 , wherein the first reset TR, the first source follower TR and the first selection TR are sequentially arranged along a first direction.

10. The image sensor of claim 8 , wherein a gate of the first source follower TR is connected to a gate of the second source follower TR.

11. The image sensor of claim 8 , further comprising:

a second selection TR connected to a power supply voltage.

12. An image sensor, comprising:

eight photodiodes configured to share a floating diffusion (FD) area,

an equivalent FD arca connected to the FD area through a first interconnection;

a first reset transistor (TR) connected to the FD area;

a second reset TR connected to the first reset TR;

a first source follower TR connected to the FD area;

a second source follower TR connected to the second reset TR;

a first selection TR connected to the first source follower TR; and

a second selection TR connected to a power supply voltage,

wherein the second reset TR and the first reset TR are adjacent to each other,
