perform a second backup operation for the buffer data stored in the internal buffer by moving the buffer data to the backup erase unit, and

based on determining that a combined page size of the first write data and the second write data stored in the backup erase unit is equal to a target page size corresponding to a second cell type, migrate the first write data and the second write data from the backup erase unit to a target erase unit included in the user area, wherein the target erase unit corresponds to the second cell type.

5 . The storage device of claim 4 , wherein, based on first data corresponding to a first zone which corresponds to the first cell type from among the zones being received from the external host device and stored in a first zone buffer of the internal buffer corresponding to the first zone, the controller is further configured to write the first data in the backup erase unit.

6 . The storage device of claim 5 , wherein, based on accumulated data associated with the first zone accumulated in the backup erase unit corresponding to a cell type of the first zone, the controller is further configured to migrate the accumulated data to the first zone.

7 . The storage device of claim 6 , wherein, after migrating the accumulated data to the first zone, the controller is further configured to adjust a cell type of data stored in the first zone buffer to correspond to the cell type of the first zone.
